While most cases resolve on their own, some require surgery. Clinicians rely on repeated ultrasounds and sometimes invasive tests to decide if surgery is needed, but predicting outcomes is difficult. Researchers at SickKids developed an AI model that analyzes ultrasound images to assist in diagnosing and managing hydronephrosis. This study tests how well the AI integrates into real-world care. Clinicians will first make care decisions without AI and then review the AI's prediction before deciding whether to change their plan. A separate expert, unaware of whether AI influenced the first clinician's plan, will make the final decision to ensure care remains unchanged. The study will assess whether AI improves decision-making, reduces unnecessary tests, and fits into clinical workflows. If successful, the AI model could serve as a complementary tool to make diagnoses more efficient and precise while minimizing invasive procedures.",[27,28],"Hydronephrosis","Hydronephrosis Congenital","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-06",{"date":32,"type":33},"2026-05-12","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":21},"2026-08-01",{"date":37,"type":21},"2027-01-31",{"name":39,"class":40},"The Hospital for Sick Children","OTHER",{"id":42,"slug":43,"hasResults":11,"nctId":44,"briefTitle":45,"officialTitle":46,"acronym":47,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":49,"enrollmentInfo":50,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":52,"phases":4,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":58,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":59,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":60,"startDateStruct":62,"completionDateStruct":64,"leadSponsor":66,"locationsCount":68},"100586926","ultrasound-localization-microscopy-in-patient-with-congenital-anomalies-of-the-kidney-and-urinary-tract-cakut-100586926","NCT06921733","Ultrasound Localization Microscopy in Patient With Congenital Anomalies of the Kidney and Urinary Tract (CAKUT)","Non-invasive Evaluation of Kidneys in Patient With Congenital Anomalies of the Kidney and Urinary Tract (CAKUT) Using Ultrasound Localization Microscopy","Search_CAKUT","Inclusion Criteria:\n\nMinimum Age 1 Month Maximum Age 6 Years Indication for MAG3 Scintigraphy of the Kidney Congenital Anomalies of the Kidney and Urinary Tract Obstruction Diagnosis Availability of the qualified examiner Consent of the parents\u002Flegal guardians\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\nLack of consent of at least one parent","6 Years",{"count":51,"type":21},20,"OBSERVATIONAL","This clinical study aims to non-invasively visualize perfusion and microvascularization, as well as individual glomeruli, using Ultrasound Localization Microscopy (ULM) and CEUS in patients with congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT).",[55,56,57,28],"Congenital Anomalies of Kidney and Urinary Tract","Lower Urinary Tract Obstruction, Congenital","Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction","RECRUITING","2025-09-16",{"date":61,"type":33},"2025-09-17",{"date":63,"type":33},"2025-05-13",{"date":65,"type":21},"2027-12-01",{"name":67,"class":40},"University of Erlangen-Nürnberg Medical School",1]
