A 7-step handwashing approach will be taught through a customized VR game in secondary schools in Hong Kong. Participant's handwashing skills and prolonged effects on handwashing habits and hygiene level will be assessed.\n\nThe main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n* Does an intervention of our VR handwashing game enhance handwashing skills amongst junior secondary students?\n* What are the factors hinder or enhance students' learning of handwashing skills in the intervention?\n\nParticipating students will be assigned into 3 groups. Each group will receive two sessions of educational training with different kinds of intervention throughout one school year (9 months). The first intervention group will participate in two VR-game sessions on handwashing skill; the second intervention group will participate in one VR-game session and one video session about handwashing; the baseline group will participate in two sessions of other VR activities unrelated to hand hygiene and view a handwashing skill poster. The research will compare the handwashing performance between the three groups.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* participate into a VR handwashing game intervention, or a video-based intervention, or placebo VR activities as stated hereinafter;\n* perform handwashing in the VR game, and their hand-motion data will be captured;\n* participate a UV lighting test after handwashing away fluorescent lotion; and,\n* fill up questionnaires",[29,30],"Hand","Hygiene Practices and Knowledge",[32,33,34,35],"Hand Hygiene","Virtual Reality","Hand Disinfection","Educational","RECRUITING","2026-06-19",{"date":39,"type":40},"2026-06-24","ACTUAL",{"date":42,"type":40},"2026-03-01",{"date":44,"type":23},"2027-08-30",{"name":46,"class":47},"The University of Hong Kong","OTHER",1,{"id":50,"slug":51,"hasResults":11,"nctId":52,"briefTitle":53,"officialTitle":54,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":55,"healthyVolunteers":17,"sex":56,"minAge":20,"maxAge":57,"enrollmentInfo":58,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":24,"phases":60,"briefSummary":61,"conditions":62,"keywords":67,"overallStatus":72,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":73,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":74,"startDateStruct":76,"completionDateStruct":78,"leadSponsor":80,"locationsCount":48},"100578963","exploring-the-effectiveness-of-interventions-on-menstrual-hygiene-awareness-in-slum-communities-of-karachi-a-quasi--experimental-analysis-100578963","NCT06818123","Exploring the Effectiveness of Interventions on Menstrual Hygiene Awareness in Slum Communities of Karachi, A Quasi- Experimental Analysis","Exploring the Effectiveness of Interventions on Menstrual Hygiene Awareness in Slum Communities of Karachi, A Quasi- Experimental Analysis.","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Woman age in between 15-45years of age\n* Those who used reusable items for menstruations\n* Those who are willing to participate voluntarily will be included in the study\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Participants who are suffering from any serious medical condition.\n* live in other than slums area of Karachi will be excluded from the study.","FEMALE","45 Years",{"count":59,"type":23},400,[26],"Proper menstrual hygiene knowledge and practices are crucial among women.
