It will also evaluate the safety of the program and its effect on pain, anxiety, and loneliness. The main questions the study aims to answer are:\n\nWhat is the feasibility of utilizing Reality PAWS MR as a substitute for in-person dog therapy for children under isolation precautions? Are patients compliant with using Reality PAWS MR? What are the interventional outcomes of Reality PAWS MR?\n\nParticipants will:\n\nWear a Meta Quest 3 VR headset with the Reality PAWS program. Interact with the program. Answer surveys regarding demographics, anxiety, pain, loneliness, sickness, perceived exertion, and immersion in the program.",[27,28,29],"Inpatient Pediatric Care","Isolation","Feasibility Studies","RECRUITING","2026-04-03",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-04-08","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":34},"2026-01-29",{"date":38,"type":21},"2026-07-01",{"name":40,"class":41},"Children's Hospital Colorado","OTHER",{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":49,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":50,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":52,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":59,"overallStatus":30,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":65,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":66,"startDateStruct":68,"completionDateStruct":70,"leadSponsor":72,"locationsCount":74},"100571601","a-trial-to-improve-family-clinical-note-access-and-outcomes-for-hospitalized-children-100571601","NCT06722378","A Trial to Improve Family Clinical Note Access and Outcomes for Hospitalized Children","Bedside Notes: A Multicenter Trial to Improve Family Clinical Note Access and Outcomes for Hospitalized Children","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* English and Spanish-speaking parents or guardians of children under 12 years old who were hospitalized on a general pediatric service at one of the 3 centers\n* Age 18 and over\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Parents of children 12 years of age and older\n* Parents unable to give written informed consent\n* Parents of children admitted for suspected abuse or neglect\n* Anticipated discharge within 24 hours","18 Years",{"count":51,"type":21},630,[24],"This study will test if giving parents access to their child's medical notes on a bedside tablet:\n\n* helps them get more involved in their care\n* helps identify safety concerns\n\nParents of hospitalized children will be randomly assigned to either use the Bedside Notes tool or follow usual care.\n\nTo see if this approach improves care and safety, researchers will measure:\n\n* note access\n* parent-reported safety concerns\n* overall experiences",[55,56,57,58,27],"Hospitalized Child","Pediatric Patient Safety","Medical Errors","Parental Engagement in Care",[60,61,62,63,64],"Family-Centered Care","Electronic Health Records (EHR)","Safety Reporting","Parent Note Access","Quality Improvement","2025-12-10",{"date":67,"type":34},"2025-12-18",{"date":69,"type":34},"2025-04-01",{"date":71,"type":21},"2029-04",{"name":73,"class":41},"University of Wisconsin, Madison",3]
