Impedance refers to the resistance to electrical current flow within tissue, and it can affect the ability to stimulate nerves or visualize them using ultrasound. The aim of this research is to assess the impedance across different tissue type during an axillary peripheral nerve block (skin, fat, fascia, muscle, nerve proximity). The results of this study would help clinicians performing nerve block to enhance the precision of needle placement, thus increase the success rate of nerve block and reduce adverse events such as intraneural or intravascular injections.",[25,26,27,28,29],"Impedance","Axillary Nerve Block","Ultrasound-Guided Nerve Blocks","Interscalene Nerve Block","Popliteal Sciatic Nerve Block","RECRUITING","2026-05-18",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-05-20","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":34},"2024-06-10",{"date":38,"type":21},"2026-12",{"name":40,"class":41},"Lebanese American University","OTHER",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":48,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":50,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":4,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":58,"overallStatus":60,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":61,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":62,"startDateStruct":64,"completionDateStruct":66,"leadSponsor":68,"locationsCount":42},"100619345","effect-of-anesthesia-technique-on-surgical-view-in-shoulder-arthroscopy-100619345","NCT07343414","Effect of Anesthesia Technique on Surgical View in Shoulder Arthroscopy","Impact of Anesthesia Method on Surgical View and Surgeon Satisfaction During Shoulder Arthroscopy: A Prospective Observational Study","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Volunteers aged 18 to 75 years.\n* Patients scheduled for elective shoulder arthroscopy.\n* Patients with an ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologists) physical status score of I, II, or III.\n* Patients capable of providing informed consent.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Previous surgical procedure performed on the same shoulder.\n* Presence of medical contraindications that could affect the choice of anesthesia (coagulopathy, active infection, severe pulmonary diseases)\n* Known allergy to local anesthetics or general anesthesia agents\n* History of opioid dependence or chronic pain syndrome\n* Presence of neurological disorders, particularly those involving the brachial plexus","75 Years",{"count":52,"type":21},82,"This prospective observational study evaluates the effect of the anesthesia method (general anesthesia versus regional anesthesia \\[interscalene nerve block\u002Fsuperficial cervical block\\] with sedation) on the operating clarity of the surgical view and the surgeon's satisfaction during elective shoulder arthroscopy.
