Lactation has been suggested to improve maternal glucose metabolism, enhance insulin sensitivity, and reduce the risk of future glucose intolerance. However, evidence regarding the protective effect of lactation on the development of GDM in subsequent pregnancies remains limited.\n\nThis prospective observational cohort study aims to evaluate the association between lactation and the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus and related pregnancy complications in women who conceive during the lactation period. Routine glycemic markers including fasting plasma glucose, HbA1c, glycosuria, and 75-g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) results will be recorded. Ultrasonographic findings including fetal abdominal circumference percentile, estimated fetal weight percentile, and amniotic fluid index will also be assessed. The study will investigate whether lactation is associated with a reduced risk of GDM, fetal macrosomia, and polyhydramnios in subsequent pregnancies.",[27,28],"Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM)","Lactating Mother",[30],"Gestational Diabetes Mellitus,Lactation,Breastfeeding,Glucose Metabolism,Maternal Health","RECRUITING","2026-05-29",{"date":34,"type":35},"2026-06-03","ACTUAL",{"date":37,"type":35},"2026-01-15",{"date":39,"type":23},"2027-12-31",{"name":41,"class":42},"Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascıoglu Education and Research Hospital Organization","OTHER",2,{"id":45,"slug":46,"hasResults":11,"nctId":47,"briefTitle":48,"officialTitle":49,"acronym":50,"eligibilityCriteria":51,"healthyVolunteers":17,"sex":18,"minAge":19,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":52,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":54,"phases":55,"briefSummary":57,"conditions":58,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":63,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":64,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":65,"startDateStruct":67,"completionDateStruct":69,"leadSponsor":71,"locationsCount":4},"100582460","breastfeeding-advices-on-otc-medicines-with-the-internet-what-is-the-best-medium-100582460","NCT06863597","Breastfeeding Advices on OTC Medicines With the Internet: What is the Best Medium","A Multi-Center Randomized, Parallel-Group Study to Compare Knowledge Translation Between Different Media in Pregnant and Lactating Women","LACT-ED","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Target population is adult (\\>18 years), 3rd trimester pregnant women; and breastfeeding women after childbirth (max. 7 days postpartum; 24:00), who intend to breastfeed.\n* Participants have to have internet access with no regard to the type of internet connection.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* A mother will not breastfeed, either because they cannot or do not want it.\n* Anyone who do not want to participate in the study.",{"count":53,"type":23},380,"INTERVENTIONAL",[56],"NA","Pharmacotherapy for lactating women in Hungary presents a unique challenge.
