M. Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi\n\n  * The age of patients should be between 18-60 years old.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Diabetic patients\n* Immune-suppressed patients\n* Patients taking steroids\n* Patients undergoing chemo-radiotherapy.\n* Pregnant females\n* Previous abdominal surgery within the last 30 days.\n* Presence of concurrent abdominal wall infections.\n* Trauma Laparotomies\n* Large Bowel perforations","ALL","18 Years","60 Years",{"count":20,"type":21},200,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[24,25],"PHASE2","PHASE3","The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the outcomes of High-volume saline irrigation vs Povidone-iodine solution cleaning of the intraoperative incision wound in preventing superficial surgical site infections in patients undergoing emergency laparotomies.
