It will also learn about the safety of this diet in this population.\n\nThe main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n1. Does a plant-focused diet improve nutritional status compared to a standard kidney diet in PD patients?\n2. What changes occur in anthropometric, biochemical, and dietary measures over 6 months?\n\nResearchers will compare the plant-focused diet to a standard-of-care renal diet to see which is more effective in improving nutrition in PD patients.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* Be randomly assigned to follow the plant-focused diet or the standard diet.\n* Be monitored for 6 months through in-person visits (aligned with their routine clinic appointments) and virtual check-ins via messages or calls.\n* Have their progress monitored for changes in outcomes such as nutrition, blood tests, kidney function, and quality of life.",[55,56,57,26],"End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)","End Stage Kidney Disease (ESRD)","Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)",[59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69,70,71,72],"Peritoneal Dialysis","End Stage Renal Disease","End Stage Kidney Disease","Malnutrition","Plant-Focused Diet","Plant-Based Diet","Nutritonal Status","Dietary Counselling","Quality of Life","Physical Fitness","Inflammation","Appetite","Malaysia","Nutritional Intervention","2026-03-12",{"date":75,"type":32},"2026-03-16",{"date":77,"type":32},"2026-03-10",{"date":79,"type":20},"2027-03-31",{"name":81,"class":39},"National University of Malaysia",{"id":83,"slug":84,"hasResults":11,"nctId":85,"briefTitle":86,"officialTitle":87,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":88,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":89,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":90,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":50,"phases":92,"briefSummary":93,"conditions":94,"keywords":100,"overallStatus":28,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":110,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":111,"startDateStruct":113,"completionDateStruct":115,"leadSponsor":117,"locationsCount":120},"100617748","the-effects-of-medidrink-platinum-and-fava-bean-protein-hydrolysate-on-fitness-in-an-aged-population-100617748","NCT07322653","The Effects of MediDrink Platinum+ and Fava Bean Protein Hydrolysate on Fitness in an Aged Population","Prospective, Open-Label, Multicenter Study to Characterise the Effects of Co-administration of MediDrink Platinum+ Formula Containing Novel Protein Blend SPR-01 and Fava Bean Protein Hydrolysate on Fitness in an Aged Population","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* 60 years or older\n* BMI ≤ 25 kg\u002Fm²\n* Malnourished (mini nutritional assessment MNA \\\u003C11\n* Sarcopenic: SARC-F score ≥ 4\n* Capable or oral feeding either alone or assisted\n* Ambulatory (WHO PS\u002FECOG 0-3)\n* Ability to complete questionnaires and self assess health status\n* Ability to provide consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patient cannot eat orally\n* Acute Infection\n* Proven Intestinal obstruction\n* Co-morbidities requiring a special diet (diabetes, kidney disease etc.)\n* Liver dysfunction\n* Acute or chronic renal failure\n* Uncontrollable nausea or vomiting\n* Use of megestrol acetate or metabolic steroids\n* Dietary supplement use in the last 3 months\n* Known intolerance or allergy to the investigational products\n* Participation in any clinical trial within the last 3 months","60 Years",{"count":91,"type":20},75,[52],"Examining the effects of MediDrink Platinum+ containing novel protein blend SRP-01 alone or when combined with PeptiStrong on clinical responses in elderly adults with sarcopenia",[95,26,96,97,98,99],"Sarcopenia in Elderly","Protein Supplementation","Muscle Mass","Physical Function","Strength",[101,102,103,104,105,106,107,108,109],"Sarcopenia","Peptide Therapeutics","PeptiStrong","MediDrink Platinum","Malnourished Elderly","Physical functioning","MediDrink Platinum+","Clinical Nurtition","Nutritional status","2025-12-22",{"date":112,"type":32},"2026-01-07",{"date":114,"type":32},"2025-09-10",{"date":116,"type":20},"2027-01-02",{"name":118,"class":119},"Nuritas Ltd","INDUSTRY",2]
