The study focuses on adults who give birth at term and choose to receive an epidural for pain relief.\n\nThe main questions the study aims to answer are:\n\nHow often does maternal blood pressure fall within 30 minutes after the epidural? When blood pressure falls, how often do participants need treatments such as fluids or medicines that raise blood pressure? Do changes in the baby's heart rate happen during this time, and do they need treatment? Are certain parent or labor factors linked to a higher chance of blood pressure drops? How often does an urgent cesarean delivery happen because of maternal low blood pressure or concerning fetal heart rate changes soon after the epidural?\n\nParticipants will not be asked to do anything different from usual care. Researchers will:\n\nReview routine vital signs recorded before and after the epidural Review treatments given, such as IV fluids or blood-pressure-raising medicines Review the baby's heart-rate monitoring Record delivery information, including whether an urgent cesarean was needed This study does not change clinical care in any way. It uses information already collected during standard labor and delivery.",[25,26,27],"Maternal Hypotension","Labor Epidural Analgesia","Fetal Heart Rate Abnormalities",[26,29,25,27,30,31],"Post-Epidural Hypotension","Non-Reassuring Fetal Heart Rate","Obstetric Anesthesia","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2025-11-26",{"date":35,"type":36},"2025-12-09","ACTUAL",{"date":38,"type":20},"2025-12",{"date":40,"type":20},"2026-03",{"name":42,"class":43},"The Chaim Sheba Medical Center","OTHER",{"id":45,"slug":46,"hasResults":11,"nctId":47,"briefTitle":48,"officialTitle":49,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":50,"healthyVolunteers":51,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":52,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":55,"phases":56,"briefSummary":58,"conditions":59,"keywords":60,"overallStatus":63,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":64,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":65,"startDateStruct":67,"completionDateStruct":69,"leadSponsor":71,"locationsCount":74},"100554363","phase-4-norepinephrine-on-maternal-hypotension-after-combined-lumbar-and-epidural-anaesthesia-100554363","NCT06498115","Norepinephrine on Maternal Hypotension After Combined Lumbar and Epidural Anaesthesia","Effect of Prophylactic Intravenous Norepinephrine Infusion on Maternal Hypotension After Combined Lumbar and Epidural Anaesthesia for Caesarean Section","Inclusion Criteria:\n\nInclusion criteria included women undergoing elective caesarean section undergoing combined lumbar and rigid anaesthesia, healthy singleton pregnancies at full term (more than 37 weeks gestation), American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status I or II, body weight between 50-100 kg, height between 150-180 cm, and fasting for more than 8 hours.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\nThe exclusion criteria included individuals with hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, preeclampsia, arrhythmias, diabetes mellitus, spinal cord malformations, abnormal fetal conditions, and those who declined to participate in the study.",true,"40 Years",{"count":54,"type":20},100,"INTERVENTIONAL",[57],"PHASE4","Norepinephrine has emerged as a potential alternative for stabilizing blood pressure during spinal anesthesia for cesarean section, purportedly maintaining maternal heart rate and cardiac output more effectively than phenylephrine. However, its application as an intravenous bolus for treating hypotension remains underexplored. Consequently, this current investigation aimed to determine the ED50 and ED95 of norepinephrine for managing maternal hypotension during cesarean section. A prospective trial enrolled 100 patients undergoing elective delivery under spinal anesthesia, with norepinephrine dosage determined using the upper and lower sequential distribution method (UDM).",[25],[61,62],"norepinephrine","maternal hypotension","RECRUITING","2024-07-11",{"date":66,"type":36},"2024-07-12",{"date":68,"type":20},"2024-07",{"date":70,"type":20},"2024-12",{"name":72,"class":73},"The Third People's Hospital of Bengbu","OTHER_GOV",1]
