The study will also examine how the program works and whether it can be successfully integrated into the child healthcare system.\n\nThe main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n* Does the maternal mental health support program improve maternal mental health and well-being?\n* Does the program improve child development outcomes?\n* Through what pathways does the program influence maternal mental health and child development?\n* Can the program be successfully integrated and delivered within the child healthcare system?\n\nResearchers will compare the maternal mental health support program with usual child healthcare services.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* Receive either the maternal mental health support program or usual child healthcare services\n* Attend program sessions delivered in community health centers\n* Complete questionnaires and assessments related to maternal well-being, parenting, and child development\n* Participate in follow-up assessments during the study period",[26,27,28],"Maternal Mental Health","Early Child Development","Depressive Symptoms, Postpartum","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-31",{"date":32,"type":33},"2026-06-04","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":20},"2026-07-01",{"date":37,"type":20},"2027-10-31",{"name":39,"class":40},"Stanford University","OTHER",1,{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":49,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":50,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":52,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":57,"overallStatus":29,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":63,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":64,"startDateStruct":66,"completionDateStruct":68,"leadSponsor":70,"locationsCount":41},"100638984","virtual-forest-based-mindfulness-for-perinatal-mental-health-100638984","NCT07606248","Virtual Forest-Based Mindfulness for Perinatal Mental Health","Evaluating the Effects of an Integrated Virtual Forest Environment and Mindfulness-Based Intervention on Mental Health in Perinatal Women","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Pregnant women aged 18 years or older\n* Gestational age below 25 weeks at recruitment\n* Able to communicate in Chinese and provide informed consent\n* Willing to participate in the study and complete follow-up assessments\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Diagnosed epilepsy, photosensitive epilepsy, or other neurological disorders\n* Severe anxiety, depression, or other psychiatric disorders currently receiving intensive treatment\n* History of severe adverse reactions to virtual reality devices, including severe dizziness, nausea, or visual discomfort\n* Inability to participate in mindfulness or VR intervention proceduresriteria:\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n\\-",true,{"count":51,"type":20},100,[23],"Perinatal anxiety and depression are common mental health concerns that may negatively affect maternal well-being, infant development, and family functioning. Mindfulness-based interventions have shown beneficial effects on reducing psychological distress during pregnancy; however, maintaining attention and engagement during mindfulness practice may be challenging for some pregnant women.\n\nThis randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of an integrated virtual forest environment and mindfulness-based intervention for improving mental health in perinatal women. Pregnant women between 20 and 24 weeks of gestation will be randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving virtual reality (VR)-based forest mindfulness intervention or a control group receiving conventional mindfulness intervention.\n\nBoth groups will participate in a 9-week mindfulness program and receive app-based mindfulness practice. The experimental group will additionally receive immersive VR forest-based mindfulness sessions during prenatal visits. Outcomes including anxiety, depression, mindfulness awareness, physiological indicators, and intervention acceptability will be assessed during pregnancy and postpartum follow-up.",[55,56,26],"Perinatal Anxiety","Perinatal Depression",[58,59,60,61,62],"Virtual reality","Mindfulness","Forest therapy","Perinatal mental health","Pregnancy","2026-05-26",{"date":65,"type":33},"2026-05-29",{"date":67,"type":20},"2026-05-25",{"date":69,"type":20},"2027-12-31",{"name":71,"class":40},"National Taiwan University Hospital","Maternal Mental Health."]
