Does giving people a choice of medication affect how well they stay in treatment?\n\nUsing a partially randomized preference trial approach, there will be a comparison between participants who choose their XR-B formulation to those who are randomly assigned to see if patient preference influences treatment outcomes. The trial is a hybrid implementation-effectiveness trial.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* Choose which medication they prefer or be randomly assigned if they don't have a preference.\n* Receive monthly injections of either Sublocade or Brixadi before and after release from prison.\n* Complete surveys and clinical assessments on treatment experience and acceptability.\n* Be monitored for treatment retention, opioid use, and adverse events for six months post-release.\n\nResearchers will compare the two treatments to see which one works better for people leaving prison and if allowing people to choose their treatment improves results.",[26,27,28,29],"Opioid Use Disorder","Incarceration","Medications for Opioid Use Disorder","Buprenorphine",[31,32,33,34,35,36],"opioid use disorder","incarceration","prison","long-acting injectable","buprenorphine","XR-B","RECRUITING","2026-05-13",{"date":40,"type":41},"2026-05-15","ACTUAL",{"date":43,"type":41},"2026-02-18",{"date":45,"type":20},"2027-06",{"name":47,"class":48},"Lifespan","OTHER",1,{"id":51,"slug":52,"hasResults":11,"nctId":53,"briefTitle":54,"officialTitle":55,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":56,"healthyVolunteers":57,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":58,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":59,"briefSummary":61,"conditions":62,"keywords":70,"overallStatus":74,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":75,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":76,"startDateStruct":78,"completionDateStruct":80,"leadSponsor":82,"locationsCount":49},"100574980","integrated-care-versus-usual-care-for-opioid-use-disorder-and-infectious-diseases-in-veterans-100574980","NCT06766331","Integrated Care Versus Usual Care for Opioid Use Disorder and Infectious Diseases in Veterans","Integrating Infectious Diseases Screening and Treatment With Medication Assisted Therapy for Veterans With Opioid Use Disorder","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* US Veteran\n* Able to provide written informed consent in English\n* Living in the community (Nassau, Suffolk, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Westchester, Rockland counties, NY)\n* Documented diagnosis of moderate to severe opioid use disorder\n* Seeking care at the Northport VA substance use disorder clinic for opioid use disorder treatment\n* Willing to have HIV, HBV, HCV, or bacterial STI testing to determine negative or positive status\n* Persons who test negative for HIV need to meet CDC PrEP eligibility criteria in the 6 months prior to enrollment\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Severe medical or psychiatric disability making participation unsafe\n* Unable to provide written consent\n* PrEP exclusion: HIV positive test; HBV positive test",true,{"count":19,"type":20},[60],"NA","Opioid use disorder (OUD) confers a higher risk of acquiring and transmitting infectious diseases, which may have long-term health consequences in Veterans.
