Effectiveness of this personalized dietary advice compared to a general healthy diet based on national dietary guidelines on markers of cardio-metabolic health will be tested.\n\nA total of 120 men and women who meet all inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria will be invited to participate. The study will be conducted at three sites: Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden), University of Wageningen (Netherlands), and University of Oslo (Norway), with 40 participants per site. The study is conducted in two parts. The first part, the characterization phase, is a three-way randomized, controlled cross-over design, featuring one-day meal tests with isocaloric meals containing different carbohydrate, fat and protein quantity as well as quality. Based on the metabolic response to the meal tests a personalized diet will be constructed. In the second part, the main intervention, effectiveness of this personalized dietary advice compared to a general healthy diet will be tested in a six week parallel group intervention study.",[29],"Metabolic Control","RECRUITING","2025-03-20",{"date":33,"type":34},"2025-03-21","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":34},"2025-03-14",{"date":38,"type":23},"2026-06-30",{"name":40,"class":41},"Chalmers University of Technology","OTHER",3,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":48,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":18,"minAge":50,"maxAge":51,"enrollmentInfo":52,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":24,"phases":54,"briefSummary":55,"conditions":56,"keywords":59,"overallStatus":66,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":67,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":68,"startDateStruct":70,"completionDateStruct":72,"leadSponsor":74,"locationsCount":76},"100564921","motivational-interviewing-and-whatsapp-based-monitoring-for-metabolic-control-and-self-efficacy-in-adolescents-with-t1dm-100564921","NCT06635460","Motivational Interviewing and WhatsApp-Based Monitoring for Metabolic Control and Self-Efficacy in Adolescents With T1DM","The Impact of Motivational Interviewing and Social Media-Based Patient Monitoring on Metabolic Control and Self-Efficacy in Adolescents With Type 1 Diabetes: A Randomized Controlled Trial","Inclusion criteria:\n\n* 13-18 years old,\n* Diagnosed with type 1 DM at least 6 months ago,\n* HbA1C level \\>7.0,\n* 3-monthly outpatient visits,\n* Completed basic type 1 DM education and scored high (≥15 points) on the Type 1 Diabetes Knowledge Assessment Form,\n* A WhatsApp user with a smart phone and internet access,\n* Adolescents who can speak and understand Turkish.\n\nExclusion criteria:\n\n* Using an insulin pump,\n* Having a chronic disease other than diabetes,\n* Cognitive, intellectual, hearing, vision, or speech disabilities","13 Years","18 Years",{"count":53,"type":23},56,[26],"This clinical study aims to determine the effects of motivational interviewing and social media-based patient monitoring on metabolic control and self-efficacy in adolescents with Type 1 diabetes. The primary research questions are as follows:\n\nFor adolescents with Type 1 diabetes who receive motivational interviewing and social media-based monitoring:\n\nHow do their attitudes toward their disease compare to those in the control group? How do their perceived levels of social support compare to those in the control group? How do their self-efficacy levels compare to those in the control group? How does their quality of life compare to that of the control group? How do their HbA1c levels compare to those in the control group?",[57,58,29],"Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM)","Motivational Interviewing",[60,61,62,63,64,65],"Type 1 diabetes mellitus","adolescent","motivational interviewing","social media-based monitoring","metabolic control","Self efficacy","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2024-10-08",{"date":69,"type":34},"2024-10-10",{"date":71,"type":23},"2024-10-15",{"date":73,"type":23},"2025-04-15",{"name":75,"class":41},"Istanbul Medeniyet University",1]
