Adapting OARS microskills (open ended questions fostering dialogue, affirmations building self-efficacy, reflective listening mirroring emotions, summarization making commitments) intertwined with the RULE framework (resisting the righting reflex, understanding personal motivations, empathic listening, empowering autonomy) helps cultivate patient's intrinsic motivation for sustained oral hygiene adherence. It effectively resolves ambivalence toward plaque control behaviours essential for periodontitis management. Grounded in MI's core spirit of equal partnership, evocation of inner values, acceptance and compassionate support, this approach fosters long term adherence to treatment. This is in contrast to oral hygiene instructions that typically employ a directive advice giving method, where clinicians provide patients with prescriptive guidance on maintaining optimal oral hygiene practices. Periodontitis staging, as defined by the 2017 World Workshop classification, delineates disease severity (Stages I-III), complexity of management, and extent of involvement, while grading (A-C) offers a prognostic indicator of the risk for future progression based on factors such as rate of advancement and responsiveness to therapy. Integrating motivational interviewing (MI) with periodontitis staging and grading creates a structured framework from diagnosis to patient centered action, enhancing adherence to stage specific treatment plans. This study seeks to investigate the influence of MI on Clinical outcomes, Patient motivation, Patient related outcomes and Patient's Self-efficacy in oral hygiene following subgingival instrumentation among patients stratified by periodontitis stage. By doing so, it aims to explore the potential of behavior change interventions to yield not only clinical improvements but also broader health benefits in the management of periodontitis.",[27,28,29],"Motivational Interviewing","Periodontitis","Oral Hygiene",[31,32,33],"Motivational interviewing","Periodontitis staging and grading","Treatment adherence","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-06-01",{"date":37,"type":38},"2026-06-03","ACTUAL",{"date":40,"type":21},"2026-06-26",{"date":42,"type":21},"2027-12-27",{"name":44,"class":45},"Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences Rohtak","OTHER",1,{"id":48,"slug":49,"hasResults":11,"nctId":50,"briefTitle":51,"officialTitle":51,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":52,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":53,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":54,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":56,"briefSummary":57,"conditions":58,"keywords":63,"overallStatus":34,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":66,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":67,"startDateStruct":69,"completionDateStruct":71,"leadSponsor":73,"locationsCount":46},"100613327","an-automated-virtual-reality-intervention-to-enhance-firearm-safety-counseling-in-pediatrics-100613327","NCT07265141","An Automated Virtual Reality Intervention to Enhance Firearm Safety Counseling in Pediatrics","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n\\- Pediatric Clinicians must meet one of the following inclusion criteria at each study site: Physicians (attending, fellow or resident), Licensed Nurse Practitioner, Physician's Assistant\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Unable to read and write in English","18 Years",{"count":55,"type":21},30,[24],"Clinicians will complete a screen-based automated virtual reality training intervention to learn how to counsel caregivers of pediatric patients on secure firearm storage.",[59,60,27,61,62],"Virtual Reality","Medical Education","Gun Violence Prevention","Artificial Intelligence (AI)",[64,60,65],"virtual reality","Gun violence prevention","2025-12-02",{"date":68,"type":38},"2025-12-04",{"date":70,"type":21},"2026-01-15",{"date":72,"type":21},"2026-08-31",{"name":74,"class":45},"Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati",{"id":76,"slug":77,"hasResults":11,"nctId":78,"briefTitle":79,"officialTitle":79,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":80,"healthyVolunteers":81,"sex":16,"minAge":82,"maxAge":83,"enrollmentInfo":84,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":86,"briefSummary":79,"conditions":87,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":34,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":93,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":94,"startDateStruct":96,"completionDateStruct":98,"leadSponsor":100,"locationsCount":4},"100588929","the-effect-of-motivational-interviewing-on-anthropometric-measurements-eating-attitudes-and-cardiometabolic-index-in-overweight-and-obese-patients-100588929","NCT06947798","The Effect of Motivational Interviewing on Anthropometric Measurements, Eating Attitudes, and Cardiometabolic Index in Overweight and Obese Patients","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Body Mass Index (BMI) in the range of 25 to 34.9 kg\u002Fm² was considered as an inclusion criterion\n* Being between 20 and 40 years of age (corresponding to the young adulthood period according to Erikson)\n\n \\-- Participants were required to be registered with the Saltuklu Family Health Center.\n* Willingness to participate in the study and provision of informed consent were required\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Current use of medications known to induce weight gain or loss\n* Presence of a diagnosed chronic illness\n* Pregnancy or being in the lactation period.\"",true,"20 Years","40 Years",{"count":85,"type":21},80,[24],[27,88,89,90,91,92],"Cardiometabolic Index","Obesity","Overweight (BMI >
