Their management is based on French and American expert opinions. The quality of evidence supporting these guidelines is low because most publications on the subject correspond to case series and few interventional studies have been performed to validate their management. However, referral centres for vascular surgery are frequently solicited to give their opinion on patients suffering from mycotic aneurysms. In addition, the last few decades have seen the improvement of vascular surgery techniques allowing the management of more and more patients, often elderly and comorbid. There has therefore been an increase in the incidence of infectious complications associated with this care. It is therefore essential to participate in research on aortic and large arterial vessel infections. For this, a monocentric cohort study seems to be an essential first step to better understand the polymorphism and complexity of these patients.",[26,27,28,29],"Aortic Infections and Inflammations","Mycotic Aneurysm","Arterial Infections and Inflammations","Prosthetic Infection","RECRUITING","2025-08-06",{"date":33,"type":34},"2025-08-08","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":34},"2023-06-30",{"date":38,"type":21},"2027-01-01",{"name":40,"class":41},"Central Hospital, Nancy, France","OTHER",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":48,"acronym":49,"eligibilityCriteria":50,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":4,"briefSummary":53,"conditions":54,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":30,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":56,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":57,"startDateStruct":59,"completionDateStruct":61,"leadSponsor":62,"locationsCount":42},"100498991","international-multicenter-mycotic-aneurysm-aorto-iliac-study-100498991","NCT05777447","International Multicenter Mycotic Aneurysm Aorto-iliac Study","Long Term Results of Aorto-iliac Mycotic Aneurysms","MAAI","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* primary mycotic aorto-iliac aneurysm who underwent in situ repair\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* patient with vascular graft infections;\n* patient with secondary aorto-enteric fistula.",{"count":52,"type":21},40,"The term mycotic aneurysm (MA) is commonly used to describe all infected aneurysms. Although MAs are believed to occur uncommonly, the true incidence is difficult to determine and is probably underestimated since MAs can be asymptomatic and are diagnosed only at autopsy. In an autoptic study, mycotic aortic aneurysms (MAAs) were reported in 3.3% of all detected aneurysms. The incidence of infected aneurysms of the aorta and iliac arteries ranges from 0.6% to 1.3%.\n\nA recent literature review of the management of MAAs showed that therapeutic strategies are multiple, including open surgical repair (OSR) in the majority of cases, endovascular aortic repair (EVAR), which increased over the last decade, and medical treatment alone for patients unfit for any aortic repair in a very limited part. Following the unfavorable prognosis towards rupture and since the medical treatment alone in mycotic aneurysms has shown mortality of almost 100%, surgical treatment is generally the preferred option.\n\nSurgical treatment includes both open and endovascular surgery. The latter is less invasive than conventional surgery but does not involve resection of the infected tissue and is therefore associated with an increased risk of sepsis and prosthesis infection. The gold standard is still open surgery, including extra-anatomic reconstruction and in situ repair, with different type of vascular graft.\n\nThis is a multicenter retrospective observational study. It will examine all patients undergoing surgical treatment of mycotic aortic-iliac aneurysms and in situ reconstruction at the participating centers.",[27,55],"Aortic Diseases","2025-03-15",{"date":58,"type":34},"2025-03-18",{"date":60,"type":34},"2020-01-01",{"date":38,"type":21},{"name":63,"class":41},"Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS"]
