This study is not masked and its primary purpose is to develop a basic science understanding of the relationship between cerebrovascular health and balance control with aging. This study will involve 102 individuals classified as younger adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults who are neurotypical and cognitively normal. The primary outcome from a clinical trials perspective will be cerebrovascular response to a bout of aerobic exercise (i.e. change in cerebral blood flow with the performance of aerobic exercise on a recumbent stepper exercise machine). Non-interventional outcomes will be EEG measures of cortical activity and biomechanical kinetic and kinematic data recorded during standing balance reactions, as well as biological blood samples for genomic analysis.",[27,28],"Neurotypical","Cognitively Normal","RECRUITING","2026-03-26",{"date":32,"type":33},"2026-03-27","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":33},"2024-10-15",{"date":37,"type":21},"2028-07-01",{"name":39,"class":40},"University of Minnesota","OTHER",1,{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":15,"sex":16,"minAge":49,"maxAge":50,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":53,"briefSummary":54,"conditions":55,"keywords":57,"overallStatus":29,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":65,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":66,"startDateStruct":68,"completionDateStruct":70,"leadSponsor":72,"locationsCount":41},"100587201","course-of-face-to-face-interactions-in-adults-with-autism-100587201","NCT06925308","Course of Face-to-face Interactions in Adults With Autism","Course of Face-to-face Interactions in Adults With Autism: An Exploratory Mixed Methods Experimental Design","Inclusion criteria\n\n* Neurotypical adults and adults with an ASD, determined according to an internationally recognized classification system.\n* Able to understand the instructions.\n* Motivation to participate in research.\n\nExclusion criteria\n\n* No good command of the Dutch language.\n* Use of alcohol and\u002For recreational drugs during the research.\n* Mentally too unstable to participate in the research.\n* Familiarity with treatment in the VGZ.","18 Years","65 Years",{"count":52,"type":21},54,[24],"This research explores how adults with autism make eye contact during formal and informal interactions; to what extent the nature of a conversation influences how eye contact is made in terms of length, frequency and overall presentation.
