However, the literature on the treatment of this type of injury in the adolescent and young adult population is scarce and involves small case series. Failure to treat these injuries can lead to serious consequences such as chronic pain, residual joint stiffness, and the development of early osteoarthritis, necessitating more invasive and burdensome interventions for the national health system, such as prosthetic replacements or osteotomies.\n\nDue to the lack of real consensus within the scientific community regarding the ideal treatment for these patients and the insufficient medium\u002Flong-term follow-up data on the effects of these injuries on articular cartilage in young patients, this study aims to evaluate the clinical and radiological conditions of patients undergoing osteochondral fragment fixation using the same surgical technique (fixation with resorbable screws performed arthroscopically or via open surgery depending on the lesion's location) in order to clarify preventive measures against cartilage degeneration following these injuries, which are very common in adolescence.",[51,23,52,53],"Osteochondral Defect","Osteochondral Fracture","Osteochondral Fracture of Patella","2026-01-29",{"date":56,"type":28},"2026-01-30",{"date":58,"type":28},"2024-09-25",{"date":60,"type":19},"2028-06",{"name":62,"class":35},"Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli",{"id":64,"slug":65,"hasResults":11,"nctId":66,"briefTitle":67,"officialTitle":68,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":69,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":4,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":70,"targetDuration":72,"studyType":20,"phases":4,"briefSummary":73,"conditions":74,"keywords":78,"overallStatus":24,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":80,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":81,"startDateStruct":83,"completionDateStruct":85,"leadSponsor":87,"locationsCount":36},"100390469","knee-registry-knieregister-100390469","NCT04364334","Knee Registry (Knieregister)","Collecting Diagnostic, Treatment and Follow-up Data on Knee Treatments.","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Receives orthopaedic knee surgery or conservative knee treatment (advice, physiotherapy, injections etc) at the UMC Utrecht;\n* Able to read and understand Dutch language;\n* Is able and willing to signs the broad consent form.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Receives no treatment (refusal of surgery or treatment);\n* Receives treatment elsewhere.",{"count":71,"type":19},1000000,"20 Years","Rationale: In view of patient care, patient characteristics and treatment parameters are registered for all patients visiting the Mobility Clinic of the University Medical Center Utrecht for orthopaedic knee treatment. This knee registry can be used for future research questions.\n\nStudy design: This is a longitudinal observational registry.\n\nStudy population: All patients that visit the Mobility Clinic will be asked to participate in the knee registry. Patients that meet one or more of the following criteria will be excluded: are below the age of 16, not able or willing to sign the broad consent form, not being able to read and understand Dutch language, or receiving medical treatment for their knee elsewhere.\n\nMain study parameters\u002Fendpoints: Data will be collected for future research for which the purpose is not known at this time. When new research will be conducted, study parameters will be set. A study application has to be submitted to the institutional ethical review board of the University Medical Center Utrecht.
