The main questions it aims to answer are:\n\nDoes percutaneous cryoablation improve short and long term pain scores? Does percutaneous cryoablation improve short and long term respiratory mechanics? Does percutaneous cryoablation improve long term quality of life? Does percutaneous cryoablation decrease delirium?\n\nResearchers will compare cryoablation to standard multimodal pain therapy to see if this impacts respiratory recovery.\n\nParticipants will undergo randomization, percutaneous cryoablative procedure, and participate in tests at pre-determined intervals to evaluate their pulmonary recovery.",[27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34,35],"Trauma","Rib Fractures","Chest Wall Disorder","Respiratory Insufficiency","Pain, Chest","Rib Trauma","Rib Fracture Multiple","Respiratory Failure","Respiratory Distress Syndrome",[27,34,37,30,28,38,39,40,41],"Respiratory Distress","Chest Wall Trauma","Percutaneous Cryoablation","Multimodal Pain Therapy","Multimodal Pain Regimen","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-02-05",{"date":45,"type":46},"2026-02-09","ACTUAL",{"date":48,"type":21},"2026-09",{"date":50,"type":21},"2028-07",{"name":52,"class":53},"Loma Linda University","OTHER",1,{"id":56,"slug":57,"hasResults":11,"nctId":58,"briefTitle":59,"officialTitle":60,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":61,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":62,"enrollmentInfo":63,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":65,"phases":4,"briefSummary":66,"conditions":67,"keywords":70,"overallStatus":75,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":76,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":77,"startDateStruct":79,"completionDateStruct":81,"leadSponsor":83,"locationsCount":5},"100534814","phrenic-nerve-reconstruction-for-the-treatment-of-diaphragmatic-paralysis-patient-experiences-and-reported-outcomes-100534814","NCT06243718","Phrenic Nerve Reconstruction for the Treatment of Diaphragmatic Paralysis: Patient Experiences and Reported Outcomes.","A Grounded Theory of Phrenic Nerve Reconstruction for the Treatment of Diaphragmatic Paralysis - A Biopsychosocial Approach to Surgical Evaluation and Outcomes.","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of Diaphragmatic Paralysis.\n* Individuals who are scheduled to undergo phrenic nerve reconstructive surgery for the treatment of Diaphragmatic Paralysis.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n\\- Individuals who do not comprehend the English language.","70 Years",{"count":64,"type":21},45,"OBSERVATIONAL","This study utilizes a grounded theory methodology to explore patient experiences of phrenic nerve reconstructive surgery as a treatment for diaphragmatic paralysis.",[68,31,69],"Diaphragmatic Paralysis","Breath Shortness",[71,68,72,73,74],"Grounded Theory","Diaphragm","Respiratory System","Pain","RECRUITING","2024-02-05",{"date":78,"type":46},"2024-02-06",{"date":80,"type":46},"2023-10-10",{"date":82,"type":21},"2026-10-10",{"name":84,"class":85},"Advanced Reconstructive Surgery Alliance","OTHER_GOV"]
