Black triangles are open gingival embrasures caused by the loss or deficiency of the interdental papilla between adjacent teeth. These spaces are a common esthetic concern and may also contribute to food impaction and periodontal problems.\n\nThirty adult patients presenting with interdental papillary loss classified as Nordland and Tarnow Class I or II will be recruited from the outpatient clinics of the Faculty of Dentistry at King Salman International University. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to one of three treatment groups: surgical reconstruction using the tube grafting technique, papillary augmentation using hyaluronic acid injection, or a restorative approach using the injection molding composite technique.\n\nClinical and photographic assessments will be performed at baseline and during follow-up visits at 3 and 6 months after treatment. The primary outcomes will be the reduction in black triangle surface area and height. Secondary outcomes will include clinical periodontal parameters such as plaque index, bleeding score, probing pocket depth, and clinical attachment level. Patient satisfaction with the esthetic outcome will also be evaluated using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS).\n\nThe findings of this study are expected to provide evidence regarding the comparative effectiveness of surgical and nonsurgical approaches for the management of interdental black triangles and help clinicians select the most predictable treatment modality for improving esthetic outcomes.",[28,29],"Black Triangles Syndrome (BTS)","Papilla Reconstruction","RECRUITING","2026-04-21",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-04-23","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":22},"2026-04-22",{"date":38,"type":22},"2026-10-15",{"name":40,"class":41},"Ain Shams University","OTHER",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":48,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":50,"enrollmentInfo":51,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":52,"briefSummary":54,"conditions":55,"keywords":56,"overallStatus":62,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":63,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":64,"startDateStruct":66,"completionDateStruct":68,"leadSponsor":70,"locationsCount":4},"100603659","phase-3-a-clinical-comparison-of-connective-tissue-graft-and-alb-prf-for-rebuilding-interdental-papilla-100603659","NCT07139392","A Clinical Comparison of Connective Tissue Graft and Alb-PRF for Rebuilding Interdental Papilla","ALB-PRF & CTG","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age 20-55 years\n* Nordland and Tarnow Class I\u002FII papillary loss\n* Good oral hygiene (FMPS \\& FMBS \\\u003C20%)\n* Systemically healthy\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Smoking\n* Periodontal pockets \\>4 mm in the target site\n* History of systemic diseases or medications affecting healing\n* Pregnant or lactating women","55 Years",{"count":21,"type":22},[53],"PHASE3","The interdental papilla, a small wedge of gingival tissue positioned between adjacent teeth, plays a crucial role in both dental esthetics and oral function.
