Is psychological therapy helpful for the reduction of problematic sexual behaviors among patients with paraphilic disorders?\n2. Is psychological helpful for the reduction of psychiatric symptoms and risk factors for sexual violence and improving quality of life among patients with paraphilic disorders?\n3. How do patients with paraphilic disorders describe pathways to care (e.g. perceived obstacles to seeking care) and how do they experience the treatment?\n\nThe treatment addresses specific sexual problems. It also addresses mental symptoms (e.g. depression and anxiety). A psychologist provides the treatment face to face (on site or video). The aim is to finish the treatment within 12 weeks.\n\nThe patient will report symptoms on a daily basis. The patient will also be interviewed after completion of treatment. The investigator will pose questions such as \"Was there anything that was experienced as particularly helpful in the treatment?\", \"Was there anything that was not helpful?\". The investigator will also ask about treatment seeking behavior with questions such as \"What kinds of resources would be helpful if they were available?\"",[26],"Paraphilic Disorders",[28],"paraphilic disorders","RECRUITING","2026-06-02",{"date":32,"type":33},"2026-06-04","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":33},"2025-03-04",{"date":37,"type":20},"2028-01",{"name":39,"class":40},"Region Stockholm","OTHER_GOV",1,{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":46,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":47,"healthyVolunteers":48,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":49,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":51,"phases":4,"briefSummary":52,"conditions":53,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":29,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":30,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":56,"startDateStruct":57,"completionDateStruct":59,"leadSponsor":61,"locationsCount":41},"100505466","paraphilic-disorders-and-other-conditions-with-risk-for-sexual-violence-a-case-control-study-100505466","NCT05861752","Paraphilic Disorders and Other Conditions With Risk for Sexual Violence: a Case-control Study","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1. 18 years of age and older\n2. Is there a difference between the clinical groups?\n\n(1b) What are the clinical characteristics of these conditions (psychiatric, sociodemographic, and genetic\u002Fepigenetic factors)? Does the clinical population differ from healthy controls?\n\n(1c) How are the psychometric properties of the assessment forms (primarily those addressing sexual deviance and compulsive sexuality) in the project?\n\n(1d) How has sexual interest developed over time among patients with paraphilic disorders? (including the person's own description of e.g. triggers and expectations).\n\nFollow-up of clinical population:\n\n(2) What is the typical treatment as usual (TAU) for the patient population? (e.g., average length of care, the percentage of dropouts and what kind of treatment has been given) (3) Are there any factors at baseline (e.g., presence of neuropsychiatric symptoms, age, symptom burden) that predict treatment outcome?
