Innovative teaching strategies are therefore needed to improve nursing students' critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and problem-solving skills.\n\nThe Pecha Kucha (PK) method is a concise, visual presentation format consisting of 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each. It has been reported to improve attention, learning motivation, and knowledge acquisition in nursing education. However, its use in teaching Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols in cardiovascular surgery has not been previously studied.\n\nERAS protocols are evidence-based perioperative care pathways aimed at reducing surgical stress, complications, and recovery time. Nurses play a key role in implementing these protocols, including patient education, pain management, early mobilization, nutrition, and discharge planning. However, nurses' knowledge and application of ERAS remain limited.\n\nThis study aims to evaluate the effect of ERAS education delivered via the Pecha Kucha method on nursing students' knowledge and attitudes toward evidence-based nursing. The study will contribute evidence on innovative teaching strategies in nursing education.\n\nThis experimental study will include 71 second-year nursing students at Lokman Hekim University between May 15, 2026 and May 15, 2027. Data will be analyzed using appropriate parametric or non-parametric tests depending on distribution",[27,28,29,30,31],"Nursing Students","PechaKucha Method","PechaKucha Presentation","Teaching Methods","ERAS",[33,34,28,35,36,30,31],"nursing","nursing students","PechaKucha","PechaKucha presentation","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-22",{"date":40,"type":41},"2026-05-27","ACTUAL",{"date":43,"type":21},"2026-05-15",{"date":45,"type":21},"2027-05-15",{"name":47,"class":48},"Lokman Hekim University","OTHER_GOV",1,{"id":51,"slug":52,"hasResults":11,"nctId":53,"briefTitle":54,"officialTitle":55,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":56,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":18,"minAge":4,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":57,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":59,"briefSummary":60,"conditions":61,"keywords":65,"overallStatus":37,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":67,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":68,"startDateStruct":70,"completionDateStruct":71,"leadSponsor":73,"locationsCount":49},"100573778","pechakucha-as-a-reinforcement-tool-for-teaching-vital-signs-skills-in-nursing-students-100573778","NCT06750705","PechaKucha as a Reinforcement Tool for Teaching Vital Signs Skills in Nursing Students","The Effectiveness of PechaKucha as a Reinforcement Tool in Teaching Vital Signs Skills to Nursing Students: A Randomized Controlled Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* First-year nursing students currently enrolled in the nursing program.\n* Students who provide informed consent to participate in the study.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Foreign nationals.\n* Students repeating the course (taking the course as a retake).\n* Students who have graduated from a high school or associate degree program related to healthcare.\n* Students who are unable to attend the scheduled intervention sessions.\n* Students with physical or cognitive impairments that would affect their ability to participate in the skills assessment or intervention.",{"count":58,"type":21},100,[24],"This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the PechaKucha presentation method as a reinforcement tool in teaching vital signs skills to first-year nursing students. A total of 100 nursing students will participate and be divided into two groups of 50 students each. Before the intervention, all participants will complete a pre-test to assess their baseline knowledge related to vital signs. Based on the pre-test results, students will be randomized into either the experimental group or the control group.\n\nThe experimental group will receive reinforcement training using the innovative PechaKucha presentation method, while the control group will receive reinforcement through a traditional PowerPoint presentation. After the reinforcement sessions, both groups will be evaluated on their vital signs skills through a practical application exam.\n\nAdditionally, participants will complete a post-test to assess their knowledge after the intervention. Feedback and satisfaction with the training methods will also be gathered to understand their perspectives on the learning experience",[62,27,63,28,64],"Vital Signs","Teaching Method","Skill Performance",[28,27,66],"vital signs","2024-12-25",{"date":69,"type":41},"2024-12-30",{"date":69,"type":21},{"date":72,"type":21},"2025-01-10",{"name":74,"class":75},"Siirt University","OTHER"]
