Despite the growing body of knowledge on this topic, the large variability in the management of these complications has translated into a high degree of uncertainty regarding the most appropriate treatment of a large proportion of such patients. The implementation of a pre-specified treatment strategy translating into a more uniform practice regarding the management of conduction disturbances post-TAVR applied to a large cohort of patients would permit to identify the benefits and drawbacks of each specific aspect of the treatment algorithm proposal. This may also help to improve both the management and clinical outcomes of the complex group of patients with conduction disturbances associated with TAVR. In the end, the final objective of a pre-specified strategy for managing conduction disturbances post-TAVR should be to obtain a low rate of PPM without increasing the risk of sudden death or life threatening arrhythmic events following hospital discharge, and all this while avoiding an excessive prolongation of the hospitalization period following the TAVR procedure.",[27,28,29],"Conduction Disturbances","Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement","Permanent Pacemaker Implantation",[31,32,33,34,35,36,37],"atrioventricular block","complete heart block","high-degree atrioventricular block","intraventricular conduction delay","left bundle branch block","Permanent pacemaker implantation","Right bundle branch block","RECRUITING","2026-05-28
2026-06-01","ACTUAL
2020-02-25
2027-12-25
Centre de Recherche de l'Institut Universitaire de Cardiologie et de Pneumologie de Quebec","OTHER",1
"100608423","biomarkers-of-inflammation-and-fibrosis-in-conduction-disorders-after-tavi-100608423","NCT07201363","Biomarkers of Inflammation and Fibrosis in Conduction Disorders After TAVI","The Role of Inflammation and Fibrosis in the Development of Conduction Disorders After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation","Inclusion Criteria:

* Written consent to participate in the trial
* Diagnosis of severe AS according to current European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines for valvular heart disease

Exclusion Criteria:

* Acute infectious disease
* Chronic inflammatory or autoimmune disease
* Corticosteroid or other immunosuppressive therapy
* Active malignant disease
* Liver disease accompanied by dysfunction
* Permanent pacemaker implanted previously
* An acute myocardial infarction within three months before the procedure
* A surgical procedure within three months before the procedure
* Previous surgical or transcatheter aortic valve replacement/implantation
* End-stage chronic kidney disease (eGFR <15 ml/min)
102,"Prediction of conduction disorders (CDs) in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is an important and complex process with a significant impact on patient outcomes.
