The main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n* Does clascoterone improve the severity of pilonidal disease as scored by a physician?\n* Does clascoterone improve patient symptoms due to pilonidal disease?\n* Does clascoterone improve the inflammation seen under the microscope in pilonidal disease removed at surgery Participants will apply clascoterone or a placebo cream to the diseased area for 3 months. They will be assessed every 4 weeks for disease severity assessed by a physician viewing patient photos and a symptom-based survey.\n\nResearchers will compare participants who received clascoterone treatment to those who received placebo.",[25,26,27,28],"Pilonidal Disease","Pilonidal Disease of Natal Cleft","Pilonidal Sinus","Pilonidal Cyst",[28,27,30,31],"Clascoterone","Androgen","RECRUITING","2026-02-25",{"date":35,"type":36},"2026-02-27","ACTUAL",{"date":38,"type":36},"2025-01-10",{"date":40,"type":19},"2028-01-01",{"name":42,"class":43},"University of Pennsylvania","OTHER",1,{"id":46,"slug":47,"hasResults":11,"nctId":48,"briefTitle":49,"officialTitle":49,"acronym":50,"eligibilityCriteria":51,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":15,"minAge":52,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":53,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":55,"phases":4,"briefSummary":56,"conditions":57,"keywords":59,"overallStatus":32,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":65,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":66,"startDateStruct":68,"completionDateStruct":70,"leadSponsor":72,"locationsCount":44},"100607869","evaluation-of-the-impact-of-pilonidal-cyst-recurrence-on-quality-of-life-in-patients-previously-treated-with-conventional-surgery-or-laser-therapy-100607869","NCT07194161","Evaluation of the Impact of Pilonidal Cyst Recurrence on Quality of Life in Patients Previously Treated With Conventional Surgery or Laser Therapy","SPIRIT","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patient aged 14 or over\n* Patient has been informed of the objectives and conditions of the study and has not objected to the collection of his\u002Fher data.\n* If the patient is under 18 years of age, both parents or the holder(s) of parental authority have been informed of their child's participation in the study and do not oppose it\n* Presenting a recurrence of pilonidal sinus after a first complete treatment by radical surgery or laser\n\nRecurrence is defined by :\n\n* The presence of persistent troublesome symptoms more than 6 months after surgery: suppuration, iterative scar disunion, absence of healing despite care deemed optimal by the expert, recurrence of abscesses\n* The presence of a characteristic MRI image, if this examination has been carried out: subcutaneous collection, in hyper T2.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Symptoms less than 6 months old\n* First operation limited to simple abscess flattening\n* Atypical symptoms, without radiological confirmation of recurrence: isolated pain, induration without inflammatory phenomena\n* History of more than one elective surgery for pilonidal sinus\n* Pilonidal sinus associated with a posteriorly developed anal fistula\n* Persistence of a skin orifice, with no hair in it, without any symptoms\n* Patient under court protection, guardianship or curatorship\n* Mental deficiency or any other reason that may hinder comprehension of the information and non-opposition note0","14 Years",{"count":54,"type":19},100,"OBSERVATIONAL","The goal of this observational study is to describe the impact of recurrence on the quality of life of patients treated with radical surgery and laser therapy.\n\nThe secondary objective is to describe in patients treated with radical surgery and laser treatment :\n\n* Intensity of pain and discomfort\n* Duration of nursing care since surgery\n* Duration of inactivity since intervention",[28,58],"Quality of Life",[60,61,62,63,64],"pilonidal cyst","recurrence","quality of life","radical surgery","laser","2025-09-18",{"date":67,"type":36},"2025-09-26",{"date":69,"type":36},"2025-03-10",{"date":71,"type":19},"2026-03",{"name":73,"class":43},"GCS Ramsay Santé pour l'Enseignement et la Recherche"]
