Specifically, the study aims to compare changes in lipid oxidation before and after the intervention between women with polycystic ovary syndrome and those without polycystic ovary syndrome.\n\nThe secondary objectives are to assess the impact of polycystic ovary syndrome on several physiological and metabolic parameters in women with overweight or obesity. These include: (i) resting energy metabolism; (ii) resting blood pressure and heart rate; (iii) energy expenditure, energy cost, and heart rate during a walking exercise; (iv) body composition, glycemic and lipid profiles, and circulating levels of sex hormones and adipokines; (v) movement behaviors; and (vi) physical fitness.\n\nIn addition, the effect of the multidisciplinary intervention, including the adapted physical activity program, will be evaluated on these same outcomes: (i) resting energy metabolism; (ii) resting blood pressure and heart rate; (iii) energy expenditure, energy cost, and heart rate during walking exercise; (iv) body composition, glycemic and lipid profiles, and concentrations of sex hormones and adipokines; (v) movement behaviors; and (vi) physical fitness, in women with overweight or obesity, with or without polycystic ovary syndrome.",[28,29],"Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome","Overweight , Obesity",[31,32,33,34],"polycystic ovary syndrome","women","cardiometabolic","Physical activity","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-06-16",{"date":38,"type":39},"2026-06-22","ACTUAL",{"date":41,"type":22},"2026-07",{"date":43,"type":22},"2028-12",{"name":45,"class":46},"University Hospital, Clermont-Ferrand","OTHER",1,{"id":49,"slug":50,"hasResults":11,"nctId":51,"briefTitle":52,"officialTitle":53,"acronym":54,"eligibilityCriteria":55,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":17,"minAge":56,"maxAge":19,"enrollmentInfo":57,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":59,"briefSummary":61,"conditions":62,"keywords":63,"overallStatus":65,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":66,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":67,"startDateStruct":69,"completionDateStruct":71,"leadSponsor":73,"locationsCount":47},"100640120","phase-3-efficacy-of-alpha-lipoic-acid-combined-with-myo-inositol-in-non-diabetic-pcos-patients-100640120","NCT07630779","Efficacy of Alpha Lipoic Acid Combined With Myo-Inositol in Non-Diabetic PCOS Patients","A Randomized Controlled Trial Evaluating the Efficacy of Alpha Lipoic Acid Combined With Myo-Inositol With or Without Metformin in Non-Diabetic Women With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome","ALA-MYO-PCOS","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Women aged 21 to 40 years\n* Diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) according to Rotterdam criteria\n* Not currently pregnant or lactating\n* No hormonal therapy within the last 3 months\n* Willing and able to provide informed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* \\- History of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, or thyroid disorders\n* History of cardiovascular, renal, or hepatic disease\n* Use of hormonal contraceptives or insulin sensitizers within the last 3 months\n* Known hypersensitivity or allergy to study medications (myo-inositol, alpha-lipoic acid, or metformin)\n* Non-Egyptian ethnicity","21 Years",{"count":58,"type":22},180,[60],"PHASE3","This study evaluates the efficacy of alpha-lipoic acid combined with myo-inositol, with or without metformin, in improving menstrual regularity and ovulation in non-diabetic women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
