This study is part of a larger project that seeks to establish a scientific basis for this innovative, group-based treatment to help women who have experienced sexual trauma heal their sexuality. Before implementing the intervention in the healthcare system and initiating a larger randomized controlled trial, the investigators will evaluate the intervention's feasibility and potential efficacy, as well as gain a more comprehensive understanding of treatment outcomes. In addition to collecting quantitative data, it is crucial to gather qualitative data on participants' experiences. In this study, data will be obtained through in-depth interviews with group participants after they complete the intervention.",[27,28,29],"Sexual Abuse","Posttraumatic Stress Symptom","Sexual Trauma","RECRUITING","2026-04-28",{"date":33,"type":34},"2026-05-04","ACTUAL",{"date":36,"type":34},"2025-09-15",{"date":38,"type":21},"2028-12",{"name":40,"class":41},"Sykehuset Telemark","OTHER_GOV",1,{"id":44,"slug":45,"hasResults":11,"nctId":46,"briefTitle":47,"officialTitle":48,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":49,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":50,"minAge":17,"maxAge":51,"enrollmentInfo":52,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":54,"briefSummary":55,"conditions":56,"keywords":59,"overallStatus":63,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":64,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":65,"startDateStruct":67,"completionDateStruct":69,"leadSponsor":71,"locationsCount":42},"100609782","safe--sound-protocol-in-adults-with-trauma-and-sud-100609782","NCT07219056","Safe & Sound Protocol in Adults With Trauma and SUD","The Effect of the Safe and Sound Protocol on Emotional Regulation in Traumatized Adults With Substance Use Disorders","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Ages 18 years old to 75 years old\n* In residential treatment for substance use disorder.\n* Has a history of trauma and is enrolled in Caron's trauma programming\n* Is proficient in English\n* Able to provide written informed consent.\n* Stated willingness to comply with all study procedures and availability for the duration of the study.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Does not speak English\n* Age \\\u003C 18 or \\> 75\n* Does not have a history of trauma\n* Active psychosis\n* Active or uncontrolled seizures\n* Tinnitus\n* Active suicidal ideation\n* Actively engaging in self-injurious behavior\n* Severe neurological condition\n* Diagnosis of autism\n* Has any serious medical disease or mental health condition which, in the judgment of the Principal Investigator or his\u002Fher designee, would make study participation unsafe, or would make intervention compliance difficult.","ALL","75 Years",{"count":53,"type":21},100,[24],"This study will explore whether the use of the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) app is an effective adjunct to treatment as usual (TAU) in individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and trauma.
