The study will compare multiple versions of a digital training program delivered through the Equa mobile application.\n\nParticipants will be individually randomized to one of several app-based training programs using a stratified randomization procedure. Each program consists of guided daily lessons completed over a 14-day period and is designed to support stress management and well-being through structured skill development activities.\n\nPrimary objectives include evaluating user satisfaction and usability of the digital platform and assessing changes in mindfulness-related skills and mental distress over time.\n\nParticipants will:\n\nComplete surveys assessing demographics and psychological well-being at baseline, post-intervention, and one-month follow-up.\n\nComplete a 14-day smartphone-delivered training program consisting of guided lessons while physiological data are collected using wearable sensors.\n\nSome participants may receive additional in-app features designed to support personalized learning or engagement with training lessons.\n\nSome participants will complete brief questionnaires before and after selected lessons to assess short-term changes associated with lesson participation.",[27,28,29,30,31],"Psychological Distress","Mindfulness Skills","Usability Satisfaction","Program Engagement","Loneliness",[33,34,35,36,37,38],"young adults","mental health","well-being","mindfulness skills","psychological distress","stress management","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-06-09",{"date":42,"type":43},"2026-06-10","ACTUAL",{"date":45,"type":21},"2026-06-05",{"date":47,"type":21},"2027-07",{"name":49,"class":50},"Equa Health","INDUSTRY",{"id":52,"slug":53,"hasResults":11,"nctId":54,"briefTitle":55,"officialTitle":55,"acronym":56,"eligibilityCriteria":57,"healthyVolunteers":58,"sex":16,"minAge":4,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":59,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":61,"briefSummary":62,"conditions":63,"keywords":71,"overallStatus":81,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":82,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":83,"startDateStruct":85,"completionDateStruct":87,"leadSponsor":89,"locationsCount":92},"100634675","choice-and-autonomy-in-learning-mindfulness-for-pediatric-residents-100634675","NCT07542769","Choice and Autonomy in Learning Mindfulness for Pediatric Residents","CALM-PR","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Current categorical pediatrics residents at Northwestern University.\n* Preliminary pediatrics residents who intend to continue in pediatrics.\n* Willing and able to provide informed consent.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n\\- None; all pediatric residents meeting inclusion criteria are eligible.",true,{"count":60,"type":21},42,[24],"This study is a pilot clinical trial designed to evaluate a flexible, online mindfulness program for pediatric residents. Medical training can be stressful, and although mindfulness programs are often offered to support well-being, many are either in-person or follow a fixed format that may not fit individual schedules or preferences. This study will test a digital mindfulness program called Wakeful, which allows participants to complete the course at their own pace. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: one group will be able to choose the length of their mindfulness program (3, 5, or 7 weeks), while the other group will be assigned a program length without a choice. The goal is to understand whether giving participants a choice improves how often they use the program, how satisfied they are with it, and whether they complete it. The main outcomes of this study focus on how participants interact with the program, including how many sessions they complete, how often they practice mindfulness on their own, and how useful and relevant they find the program. The study will also look at overall satisfaction and how many participants drop out before finishing. In addition, the study will explore whether participants report changes in mindfulness and compassion for others, although it is not designed to determine clinical improvements in mental health. By understanding how pediatric residents engage with different program formats, this study aims to inform the design of more flexible and user-centered digital wellness programs that better fit into demanding medical training environments.",[30,64,65,66,67,68,69,70],"Treatment Adherence and Compliance","Mindfulness","Self-Compassion","Physician Burnout","Psychological Well-Being","Meditation","Meditation Training",[65,69,72,73,74,75,76,64,77,30,78,79,66,80],"Digital Health Intervention","Internet-Based Intervention","Physician Well-Being","Graduate Medical Education","Pediatric Residency","Patient Acceptance of Health Care","User Engagement","Pilot Projects","Compassion","RECRUITING","2026-05-21",{"date":84,"type":43},"2026-05-26",{"date":86,"type":43},"2026-04-13",{"date":88,"type":21},"2027-05-01",{"name":90,"class":91},"Northwestern University","OTHER",1]
