in children undergoing general anesthesia and are associated with prolonged stay in the hospital and high costs. Development of PPCs is associated with ventilator settings in adult patients undergoing general anesthesia. Data on perioperative ventilator settings in children are lacking, leaving the anaesthetist without guidance. Consequently, the current standard of care in perioperative mechanical ventilation in children is expected to be extremely heterogeneous, leading to ventilation with higher levels of energy than necessary. There is evidence that laryngeal mask airway is associated with postoperative pulmonary complications in comparison with tracheal intubation. However, conclusion may reverse among frail population such as high-risk geriatric patients. Geriatric patients are often associated with loose mask seal due to physiological changes, which may increase chances of aspiration and pose challenges to intraoperative airway maintenance. It was reported that laryngeal mask airway causes more atelectasis among children, but no report among high-risk elderly. The investigators therefore propose this study to verify the non-inferior effect of laryngeal mask airway compared to tracheal intubation on postoperative pulmonary complications among high-risk geriatric patients undergoing elective non-cardiothoracic surgeries.",[26],[144,145,146,147],"Supraglottic airway","Tracheal intubation","Postoperative pulmonary complications","Geriatric surgery","2024-04-28",{"date":150,"type":39},"2024-04-30",{"date":152,"type":20},"2024-05-05",{"date":154,"type":20},"2026-06-15",{"name":156,"class":46},"RenJi Hospital"]
