However, distinguishing abuse-related injuries from accidental findings can be challenging, especially for nursing students who have limited clinical experience. Simulation-based educational methods may provide safe and effective environments for developing these skills.\n\nThis study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of moulage-based simulation training in improving nursing students' ability to recognize signs of physical abuse in children. The study will use a randomized controlled design in which students will be assigned to either a moulage-based simulation group or a control group receiving standard theoretical education.\n\nAfter a lecture on child physical abuse within the Child Health and Pediatric Nursing course, students will participate in laboratory practice sessions. The intervention group will assess a pediatric mannequin prepared with simulated abuse findings using moulage techniques. Students' knowledge and recognition of physical abuse indicators will be evaluated before and after the intervention.\n\nThe study seeks to determine whether moulage-based education improves nursing students' recognition of physical abuse findings and supports the development of clinical assessment skills.",[29,30,31],"Nursing Education","Simulation of Physical Illness","Child Physical Abuse, Suspected, Sequela",[33,34,35],"Child Physical Abuse","Moulage Technique","Nursing education","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-03-31",{"date":39,"type":40},"2026-04-03","ACTUAL",{"date":42,"type":23},"2026-04-10",{"date":44,"type":23},"2026-06-30",{"name":46,"class":47},"Atlas University","OTHER",1,{"id":50,"slug":51,"hasResults":11,"nctId":52,"briefTitle":53,"officialTitle":54,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":55,"healthyVolunteers":17,"sex":18,"minAge":56,"maxAge":57,"enrollmentInfo":58,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":24,"phases":60,"briefSummary":61,"conditions":62,"keywords":65,"overallStatus":70,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":71,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":72,"startDateStruct":74,"completionDateStruct":76,"leadSponsor":78,"locationsCount":48},"100495332","the-holographic-standardized-patient-100495332","NCT05729802","The Holographic Standardized Patient","The Holographic Standardized Patient: Using Mixed Reality to Reduce Barriers to Crisis","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Resident or fellow level volunteers from acute care postgraduate training programs (Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Unwilling to enter the study\n* Previous experience with simulator based teaching on anaphylaxis","20 Years","100 Years",{"count":59,"type":23},40,[26],"The current pandemic has revealed in-person simulation training and evaluation is vulnerable to disruption, and alternatives are needed which allow remote evaluation. The recently developed Microsoft Hololens headset device allows interactable holograms to be inserted into a user's workspace (mixed reality) - permitting the augmentation of existing clinical and training spaces with holographic (i.e. virtual) patients via the prototype HoloSIM software. This study is the first known research initiative aiming to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of mixed reality for acute medicine training and assessment at a distance.\n\nSpace, time, personnel, pandemic, and cost constraints limit opportunities for high-fidelity simulation exercises for post-graduate trainees at Sunnybrook. Does simulation-based training in blood pressure and electrocardiography in cardiac rehabilitation have an effect on the satisfaction levels of physiotherapy students? Does simulation-based training in blood pressure and electrocardiography in cardiac rehabilitation have an effect on the theoretical knowledge levels of physiotherapy students?\n\nThis study is planned to be conducted with 39 individuals who are enrolled in the course and taking it for the first time.\n\nThe study will be conducted at the Acıbadem University CASE Laboratory using surveys administered before and after simulation training on blood pressure and electrocardiography (ECG). The sociodemographic characteristics of the participants will be recorded using an information form. The level of experience, theoretical knowledge, and competency in blood pressure and ECG measurement will be assessed with a 'Pre-Test' prepared for this purpose.
