Participants will complete a 24- week (\\~6-month) study where the Participants will be assigned to one of two smartphone apps to help with quitting smoking. Regardless of the group participants are assigned to, they will also receive a combination of nicotine replacement therapy (patches and gums) that have been shown to help people quit smoking. The main questions this study aims to answer are:\n\nParticipants will complete 5 video call visits over about 6 months. Participants will install their assigned smoking cessation app onto their phone and will be asked to use the app for the duration of the study along with their provided Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products. During the study visits, participants will meet with study staff to complete questionnaires and interviews. Participants may be asked to provide breath and saliva samples to measure the level of carbon monoxide and nicotine.",[58,59,60,27,61,62,63],"Tobacco","Tobacco Abstinence","Smoking Cessation","Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)","Tobacco Dependence Caused by Cigarettes","Cancer Prevention",[58,60,65,59,66],"Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)","Quit Smoking","2025-12-15",{"date":69,"type":35},"2025-12-17",{"date":71,"type":35},"2025-08-18",{"date":73,"type":21},"2028-12",{"name":75,"class":42},"Wake Forest University Health Sciences",{"id":77,"slug":78,"hasResults":11,"nctId":79,"briefTitle":80,"officialTitle":81,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":82,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":52,"maxAge":18,"enrollmentInfo":83,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":85,"briefSummary":86,"conditions":87,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":31,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":88,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":89,"startDateStruct":91,"completionDateStruct":93,"leadSponsor":95,"locationsCount":43},"100585388","smoking-cessation-program-with-cbt-and-mindfulness-audio-support-a-randomized-controlled-trial-100585388","NCT06901713","Smoking Cessation Program With CBT and Mindfulness Audio Support: A Randomized Controlled Trial","Protocol for a Smoking Cessation Program With CBT Text and Mindfulness Audio Support: A Randomized Controlled Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Who smoke at least 5 cigarettes per day.\n* Express a desire to quit or reduce smoking.\n* Who has the ability to access and use the provided digital materials.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Those currently enrolled in other smoking cessation programs.\n* Individuals with severe psychiatric disorders that may interfere with participation.\n* Those without access to the necessary digital devices.",{"count":84,"type":21},2000,[24],"This protocol describes a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of a smoking cessation program with two intervention methods.
