All participants enrolled in this study will be under the age of 18 at time of enrollment.\n* Custody: Detained in SLO County, CA Juvenile Hall with at least 8 weeks of expected stay at the time the clinical trial starts\n* Diagnosis: Documented history of being at risk or of having a history or current diagnosis of a mental health disorder (depression, anxiety, stress) and\u002For SUD\n* Language\u002FComprehension: Basic English understanding; accommodations for limited literacy allowed\n* Consent\u002FAssent: Eligible juveniles must provide assent, with parent\u002Fguardian or Legally Authorized Representative (LAR) consent.\n* Ensure that the person providing informed consent understands the information provided, even if that person providing informed consent agrees to be in the research.\n* Participation: Willingness to comply with the Heal intervention, journaling, and questionnaires\n* Recruitment and selection participation: Eligible participants will be selected in collaboration with facility behavioral-health staff using objective inclusion criteria only. Recruitment procedures are designed to be fair and free from arbitrary influence by facility administrators or peers.\n\nSpecial Considerations: Because participants are minors and incarcerated, safeguards ensure voluntary participation, protection from coercion, age-appropriate communication, and accommodations for literacy or comprehension limits.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age\u002FStatus: Not between 12-18 years old, or not currently detained in SLO County Juvenile Hall\n* Length of Stay: Expected detention is less than 8 weeks at start of clinical trial\n* Clinical Stability: Determined by onsite staff to be medically or psychiatrically unable to participate safely\n* Consent\u002FAssent: Unable to provide assent, or if parent\u002Fguardian or LAR does not provide consent\n* If the person providing informed consent needs more time than is allowed by the research design.\n* Language\u002FComprehension: Cannot understand basic English, even with literacy accommodations\n* Participation: Unwilling to comply with the Heal intervention, journaling, or questionnaires\n* Research staff will not personally use the device for research purposes. Their role is limited to facilitating device use for participants and monitoring protocol adherence.\n* While the Healpod may be available for non-research use in other settings, this protocol strictly limits its use to the described research procedures. Affecting an estimated 60-70% of detained Attention deficit hyperactivity disorderadolescents, it is a major driver of aggression, substance use, school failure, and later recidivism. Despite available treatments, managing emotional dysregulation in custody remains challenging, with youth often enduring high arousal, anger, and anxiety that persist into adulthood. Current popular therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), often fall short in detention because they rely on verbal processing, require multiple scheduled sessions, and\u002For need highly trained staff. Other technologies, like biofeedback and neurostimulation techniques, are still under scrutiny for adolescents, given their higher-than-usual Adverse Events (AEs).\n\nThis SoundHeal study aims to evaluate a sensory intervention using the Healpod, a distraction-free physical space where a participant sits, delivering sound, music, gentle vibrations, and ambient light. Participation is possible after completing alcohol withdrawal treatment within the ordinary health-care system, accessible to the Swedish population.\n* Substance use disorder, other than alcohol or nicotine, within the past six months.",{"count":76,"type":22},240,[25],"The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if internet-based cognitive behavior therapy (ICBT ) works to treat co-occurent of problematic alcohol use and mental illness including mild to moderate symptoms of either depression, anxiety, stress or disturbed sleep.\n\nThe main questions the study aims to answer are:\n\n* Does the ICBT program lower the self-rated suffering from mental illness?\n* Does the ICBT program lower the self-reported alcohol intake? Researchers will compare the ICBT program to the participants who are rancomized to a control grout that receives weekly attention from the research team, to see if the treatment works. In both groups, the participants will have the opportunity to ask for support from a therapist during the week days.\n\nParticipants are adults living in Sweden. They will:\n\n* Receive an ICBT program supported by a trained therapist. It consists of modules that the participants will work with on their computer for 10 weeks. Some modules will be compulsory and other optional for the participants.\n* Fill out forms to rate their mental illness and alcohol intake at the start and the end of the study as well as once every week during treatment.\n\nPrimary outcome measures are depression, anxiety and stress symptoms (measured with Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale 21 (DASS-21)) and alcohol intake measured with self-reported amounts.
