The main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n* Does IAA supplementation affect biomarkers of Environmental Enteric Dysfunction (EED), through the Dual Sugar Lactulose\u002FRhamnose (L\u002FR) test, plasma intestinal fatty acid binding protein, plasma lipopolysaccharide binding protein, fecal myeloperoxidase, fecal neopterin, and gut microbiota?\n* Does IAA supplementation impact amino acid digestion, as assessed by a dual-stable isotope tracer?\n* What is the weight gain and the changes in length-for-Age z-scores (LAZ) and body composition?\n\nThe researchers will compare the effects of consumption of standard complementary food with added IAA against a control group that has no added IAA through the assessment of the various biomarkers.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* answer questions regarding personal, demographic, anthropometric, and food intake information.\n* provide biological samples, including breath, urine, stool, blood, and saliva.\n* consume solutions or meals that contain sugars and\u002For stable isotope tracers.\n* visit the FNRI and receive house visits by study staff.\n* consume complementary food with or without supplement daily for 28 days.",[27],"Stunted Growth",[29,30,31,32,33],"Amino Acid Supplementation","Gut Function","Nutritional Interventions","Stunting","Children Below 3 Years Old","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2024-11-04",{"date":37,"type":38},"2024-11-06","ACTUAL",{"date":40,"type":21},"2025-02-01",{"date":42,"type":21},"2025-12",{"name":44,"class":45},"Food and Nutrition Research Institute, Philippines","OTHER_GOV"]
