When compared to traditional surgical method; MVA is safer, more cost-effective, due to its shorter hospitalisation period and not undergo the risk of general anaesthesia. The MVA procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and analgesics is given prior the procedure. However, majority of patients still complaint significant pain during the procedure.\n\nIn our previous study, the investigator found women had high anxiety and stress levels when undergo miscarriage and the operation. Pain perception may further be affected by one's psychological state at the time of the procedure. Therefore reducing the patient's anxiety during the USG-MVA may further improve the patient's pain control and overall acceptance of the procedure.\n\nMusic can act as a distracter and has a calming effect which turn the patient's attention away from negative stimuli. Yet, there has been no RCTs to investigate the beneficial effect of music therapy in pain control or reducing anxiety levels during USG-MVA.\n\nThe investigator hypothesis the intervention of music therapy to our current pain control will reduce the pain and anxiety levels experienced by our patients during USG-MVA. Thus, there is a need to conduct an RCT to test our hypothesis.\n\nThe study is conducted in an university affilated hospital for women undergo the USG-MVA procedure. The primary outcome is to evaluate in between group difference in the pain intensity after the USG-guided MVA procedure. The secondary outcome is to evaluate the difference in anxiety level . Case is randomized to music and non music group, Bluetooth headphone are provided during the procedure and case can choose their favourite songs. The outcome are measured by the self rated instrument: Visual analogue scale and the STAI trait anxiety score and the physiological measure salivary alpha amylase (sAA )score. The pain score and the anxiety level is measured pre operatively, immediate after the procedure and 2 hours post operatively. The SPSS-26 will be used for statistics analysis.",[26,27,28,29,30],"First Trimester Abortion","Surgical Abortion","Music Intervention","Local Anesthesia","Pain",[32,33,34,35,36,37,38,39,40],"music","termination of pregnancy","suction curettage","evacuation of gestational product","anxiety","abortion","pain","surgical abortion","aspiration abortion","RECRUITING","2026-05-03",{"date":44,"type":45},"2026-05-07","ACTUAL",{"date":47,"type":45},"2021-11-16",{"date":49,"type":20},"2027-12-30",{"name":51,"class":52},"Chinese University of Hong Kong","OTHER",1,{"id":55,"slug":56,"hasResults":11,"nctId":57,"briefTitle":58,"officialTitle":59,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":60,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":61,"enrollmentInfo":62,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":64,"briefSummary":65,"conditions":66,"keywords":68,"overallStatus":41,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":75,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":76,"startDateStruct":78,"completionDateStruct":80,"leadSponsor":82,"locationsCount":53},"100466933","new-cross-linked-hyaluronan-gel-to-prevent-adhesion-after-usg-mva-rct-100466933","NCT05360186","New Cross-linked Hyaluronan Gel to Prevent Adhesion After USG-MVA: RCT","The Efficacy and Safety of a New Cross-linked Hyaluronan Gel to Prevent Adhesion After Ultrasound-guided Manual Vacuum Aspiration (USG-MVA): A Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Women 18 years old or above\n* No previous history of IUA\u002F Asherman's syndrome\n* No previous surgical history of EVA or dilatation or curettage or surgical termination of pregnancy or caesarean section\n* No previous history of therapeutic hysteroscopic surgeries\n* Voluntary informed consent and understanding of study\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* previous therapeutic hysteroscopic procedures (e.g. endometrial ablation, removal of fibroids or polyps, surgical correction of congenital uterine anomalies or adhesiolysis)\n* suspicion of molar pregnancy\n* genital tract malformation\n* suspicion of active infection or genital tract malignancy or genital tuberculosis\n* abnormal blood coagulation\n* inability to tolerate pelvic examination known\n* suspected intolerance of hypersensitivity to NCH gel or its derivatives\n* patient refusal","50 Years",{"count":63,"type":20},150,[23],"The objective of this prospective, randomized controlled study was to evaluate the effectiveness of this NCH gel in the prevention of IUA development as assessed by hysteroscopy after USG-MVA, in the treatment for first-trimester miscarriage.\n\n* To study the severity and extent of the IUA as assessed by the AFS and ESGE adhesion score in both groups of patients.\n* To examine the rate of complications or side effects with the NCH gel.\n* To assess the subsequent menstrual history and reproductive outcome in both groups of patients.",[26,27,67],"Miscarriage With Afibrinogenemia",[26,27,69,70,71,72,73,74],"Intrauterine adhesion","Hyaluronan gel","Protective Agents","Hyaluronic Acid","Manual vacuum aspiration","Miscarriage","2025-08-12",{"date":77,"type":45},"2025-08-13",{"date":79,"type":45},"2022-06-14",{"date":81,"type":20},"2026-05-15",{"name":51,"class":52}]
