General and disease-related data will be collected. All eligible patients must voluntarily sign an informed consent form after understanding and accepting the study. Successfully recruited participants will undergo internal fixation surgery at a scheduled time and then be randomly assigned to either the Venostan (horse chestnut seed extract tablet) group or the conventional treatment group. They will receive the corresponding treatments according to the study protocol. Follow-up assessments will include changes in ankle circumference, ankle range of motion, scale evaluation results, laboratory test results, and adverse events. The study aims to evaluate the effects of Venostasin in patients with ankle fractures undergoing internal fixation surgery, exploring its potential to promote postoperative reduction of ankle swelling, enhance early joint function recovery, and investigate its safety in postoperative fracture management.",[26],"Swelling\u002F Edema",[28,29,30,31,32,33],"Ankle fracture","Edema","Postoperative rehabilitation","horse chestnut seed extract","venostan","enhanced recovery after surgery","RECRUITING","2025-07-14",{"date":37,"type":38},"2025-07-16","ACTUAL",{"date":40,"type":38},"2025-04-16",{"date":42,"type":20},"2026-01-12",{"name":44,"class":45},"Beijing Jishuitan Hospital","OTHER",1,{"id":48,"slug":49,"hasResults":11,"nctId":50,"briefTitle":51,"officialTitle":52,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":53,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":54,"enrollmentInfo":55,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":57,"briefSummary":59,"conditions":60,"keywords":62,"overallStatus":34,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":69,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":70,"startDateStruct":72,"completionDateStruct":74,"leadSponsor":76,"locationsCount":46},"100589363","phase-4-the-effect-of-dexamethasone-submucosal-injection-after-surgical-extraction-of-lower-impacted-third-molars-on-trismus-and-edema-100589363","NCT06953440","The Effect of Dexamethasone Submucosal Injection After Surgical Extraction of Lower Impacted Third Molars on Trismus and Edema","The Effect of Dexamethasone Submucosal Injection After Third Molar Surgery on Trismus and Edema","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients with impacted lower third molars requiring surgical extraction.\n* Adults over the age of 18 years old.\n* American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) 1, and ASA 2\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients with preoperative intraoral or extraoral swelling.\n* Patients requiring simple extraction (Class I group A according to Pell and ---Gregory classification).\n* Patients with uncontrolled systemic disease such as uncontrolled diabetic - patients.\n* Patients who are allergic to corticosteroids.\n* Patients who are contraindicated to use corticosteroids such as uncontrolled diabetic patients, and osteoporotic patients.\n* Patients who require extraction of additional teeth at the same visit.","65 Years",{"count":56,"type":20},66,[58],"PHASE4","This clinical trial aims to investigate whether dexamethasone decreases edema and trismus in adults undergoing lower third molar surgical extraction.\n\nThe main question it aims to answer is:\n\nDoes dexamethasone submucosal injection have a positive impact on trismus and edema after third molar surgery compared to conventional postoperative prescription?\n\nParticipants will:\n\n* Be administered with dexamethasone submucosal injection or a placebo after the surgery.\n* Visit the clinic three times the week after the extraction for follow-up.",[26,61],"Trismus",[63,64,65,66,67,68],"Extraction","third molar","wisdom teeth","dexamethasone","steroids","submucosal","2025-04-23",{"date":71,"type":38},"2025-05-01",{"date":73,"type":38},"2024-02-01",{"date":75,"type":20},"2025-06-30",{"name":77,"class":45},"King Abdulaziz University"]
