It will also examine whether measuring anterior compartment pressure helps physicians diagnose acute compartment syndrome (ACS), a rare but dangerous complication that can develop following surgical treatment of a tibia fracture.\n\nThe main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n1. Are there differences in anterior compartment pressures between healthy patients and patients who develop ACS?\n2. Does compartment pressure monitoring aid physicians in accurately diagnosing ACS?\n\nParticipants will have a continuous pressure monitoring sensor placed in their knee anterior knee compartment during their surgery. This sensor will record pressure data following a patient's surgical treatment for 18+ hours.",[27,28,29],"Proximal Tibia Fracture","Tibial Shaft Fracture","Acute Compartment Syndrome",[31,32,33,34],"Tibia fracture","acute compartment syndrome","compartment pressure","pediatric","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-06-25",{"date":38,"type":39},"2026-06-29","ACTUAL",{"date":41,"type":21},"2026-06-01",{"date":43,"type":21},"2028-06-01",{"name":45,"class":46},"Boston Children's Hospital","OTHER",1,{"id":49,"slug":50,"hasResults":11,"nctId":51,"briefTitle":52,"officialTitle":53,"acronym":54,"eligibilityCriteria":55,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":56,"maxAge":57,"enrollmentInfo":58,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":60,"briefSummary":61,"conditions":62,"keywords":64,"overallStatus":35,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":69,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":70,"startDateStruct":72,"completionDateStruct":74,"leadSponsor":76,"locationsCount":4},"100641304","rct---suprapatellar-approach-versus-lateral-parapatellar-approach-in-tibial-shaft-fracture-100641304","NCT07657559","RCT - Suprapatellar Approach Versus Lateral Parapatellar Approach in Tibial Shaft Fracture","Comparison of Suprapatellar Approach Versus Extra-articular Lateral Parapatellar Approach in Tibial Shaft Fractures: A Randomized Controlled Trial","ELPP","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* age 18-60 years\n* tibial shaft fractures\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* pervious knee injury\n* open fracture at least Gustilo grade II\n* ipsilateral femur and ankle fractures","18 Years","60 Years",{"count":59,"type":21},40,[24],"This study aims to compare 2 surgical techniques for tibial shaft nailing (suprapatellar approach vs extra-articular lateral parapatellar approach). following peri-operative and postoperative outcomes",[28,63],"Intramedullary Nail",[65,66,67,68],"suprapatellar approach","extra-articular lateral parapatellar approach","intramedullary nailing","tibial shaft fracture","2026-06-14",{"date":71,"type":39},"2026-06-18",{"date":73,"type":21},"2026-08-01",{"date":75,"type":21},"2028-08-31",{"name":77,"class":46},"Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital, Thailand",{"id":79,"slug":80,"hasResults":11,"nctId":81,"briefTitle":82,"officialTitle":82,"acronym":83,"eligibilityCriteria":84,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":56,"maxAge":85,"enrollmentInfo":86,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":88,"phases":4,"briefSummary":89,"conditions":90,"keywords":101,"overallStatus":111,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":112,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":113,"startDateStruct":115,"completionDateStruct":117,"leadSponsor":119,"locationsCount":121},"100566684","prospective-validation-study-of-the-cd8temra-cells-as-a-prognostic-biomarker-of-healing-outcome-after-fracture-100566684","NCT06658379","Prospective Validation Study of the CD8+TEMRA Cells As a Prognostic Biomarker of Healing Outcome After Fracture","BioBone","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* male or female subjects\n* subjects \\> 18 to 80 years of age at the time of screening\n* closed fractures\n* fractures of the humerus-shaft, forearm-shaft, femur and tibia\n* Subjects suffering monotrauma or comparable with monotrauma, due to comparable post-surgery mobilisation\n* osteosynthesis\n* subject has signed an informed consent form\n* legal capacity\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* cancer related fractures\n* periprosthetic fractures\n* known active Hepatitis B virus or Hepatitis C virus infection at screening\n* known human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, severe uncontrolled inflammatory disease or severe uncontrolled autoimmune disease (e.g., ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease\n* active malignancy or history of malignancy within 5 years prior to screening\n* known diagnosis of moderate to severe dementia based on subject's medical history or severe psychiatric disorder\n* known history of drug or alcohol abuse in the past 12 months, based on self-report or medical record\n* history of autologous\u002Fallogeneic bone marrow (BM) or solid organ transplantation\n* exposure to allogeneic cell-based therapy in the past or exposure to autologous cell therapy in the last 12 months before screening\n* pregnancy\n* subject is currently enrolled in an investigational device or drug trial, or has not yet completed a period of at least 30 days since ending other investigational device or drug trial(s).\n* subject is detained or institutionalized under a court order or administrative order\n* in the opinion of the investigator, the subject is unsuitable for participating in the study (patient compliance).","80 Years",{"count":87,"type":21},640,"OBSERVATIONAL","In approx. 10-15% of all fracture patients, there is a prolonged healing time or even a complete absence of fracture healing (non-union). As a result, these patients require further surgical interventions, combined with renewed or prolonged hospitalisation\u002Frehabilitation and incapacity to work. To summarise, this therefore represents a serious socio-economic problem. At present, there is no prognostic method for the early prediction of patients at risk of a disturbed healing process. However, if these patients are successfully stratified, there are already a variety of therapeutic strategies available to additionally stimulate fracture healing. Therefore, the aim is to conduct a prospective clinical study to validate CD8+ TEMRA cells as a prognostic marker of impaired fracture healing. The investigators assume that preoperative CD8+ TEMRA cell expression represents a prognostic biomarker with high diagnostic precision for differentiating between a) normal healing patients, b) delayed healing patients and c) pseudarthrosis patients. Furthermore, the sensitivity and specificity should be high enough, health-economically significant and realisable in clinical routine.",[91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99,27,28,100],"Fracture Non Union","Fracture Healing","Long Bone Delayed-Union Fracture","Humerus Shaft Fracture","Forearm Fracture","Femoral Neck Fractures","Femur Distal Fracture","Pertrochanteric Fracture of Femur","Femoral Shaft Fracture","Distal Tibia Fracture",[102,103,104,105,106,107,108,109,110],"long bone fracture","impaired fracture healing","fracture non-union","prognosis","prognostic biomarker","Immune system","T cells","radiology","bone fracture healing","RECRUITING","2024-10-23",{"date":114,"type":39},"2024-10-26",{"date":116,"type":39},"2016-12",{"date":118,"type":21},"2025-06",{"name":120,"class":46},"Charite University, Berlin, Germany",7]
