The main questions it aims to answer are:\n\nWhat are the terbinafine pharmacokinetic parameters (e.g., AUC, CL, V) in children with tinea capitis, and how do they differ from adult values? Which covariates (e.g., age, body weight, CYP enzyme activity, renal function) significantly influence inter-individual variability in terbinafine PK parameters? What is the clinical efficacy (based on TSSS reduction and mycological cure rate) and safety profile of terbinafine in this pediatric population?\n\nParticipants will:\n\nUndergo oral terbinafine treatment according to weight-based dosing (62.5-250 mg daily).\n\nConcentration determination is carried out using the opportunistic sampling method.\n\nComplete clinical assessments (TSSS scoring) and mycological examinations (microscopy\u002Fculture) at baseline and follow-up visits.\n\nUndergo routine laboratory tests (liver\u002Fkidney function, hematology) to monitor safety.",[27],[27],"2025-06-30",{"date":57,"type":32},"2025-07-02",{"date":59,"type":32},"2021-06-15",{"date":61,"type":21},"2026-06-01",{"name":63,"class":39},"Shandong University",{"id":65,"slug":66,"hasResults":11,"nctId":67,"briefTitle":68,"officialTitle":69,"acronym":70,"eligibilityCriteria":71,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":4,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":72,"targetDuration":74,"studyType":51,"phases":4,"briefSummary":75,"conditions":76,"keywords":77,"overallStatus":83,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":84,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":85,"startDateStruct":87,"completionDateStruct":89,"leadSponsor":91,"locationsCount":40},"100596294","trichoscopic-predictors-of-treatment-response-in-tinea-capitis-a-prospective-study-100596294","NCT07043582","Trichoscopic Predictors of Treatment Response in Tinea Capitis: A Prospective Study","Tinea Capitis Patients: The Predictive Value of Trichoscopic Findings for Treatment Response - A Prospective Observational Study","TCTREP","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age between 0 and 18 years\n\nClinical and trichoscopic findings compatible with tinea capitis\n\nLaboratory confirmation of tinea capitis (positive potassium hydroxide \\[KOH\\] smear and\u002For fungal culture)\n\nEligible for systemic antifungal treatment with terbinafine\n\nWritten informed consent obtained from a parent or legal guardian\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age over 18 years\n\nNegative KOH smear and negative culture\n\nCurrent use of immunosuppressive therapy or presence of severe systemic illness (e.g., malignancy, HIV, organ transplant)\n\nContraindication to terbinafine treatment\n\nPoor compliance or unwillingness to attend follow-up visits\n\nCoexisting dermatologic conditions in the affected scalp area (e.g., seborrheic dermatitis, alopecia areata, lichen planus)",{"count":73,"type":21},150,"1 Month","Brief Summary (Plain Language Version)\n\nThe goal of this observational study is to learn how well changes seen under a special microscope called a trichoscope (used to look at hair and scalp) match the success of treatment in children and adolescents with a scalp fungal infection called tinea capitis.
