The main questions it aims to answer are:\n\n* Do children experience less pain after surgery when lateral pharyngoplasty is performed with tonsillectomy compared to tonsillectomy alone?\n* Do children eat\u002Fdrink better when lateral pharyngoplasty is performed with tonsillectomy compared to tonsillectomy alone?\n* Is there a lower risk of bleeding after tonsillectomy when lateral pharyngoplasty is performed? Researchers will compare children undergoing tonsillectomy and lateral pharyngoplasty with children undergoing tonsillectomy alone to see if the participants experience less pain, better oral intake, and less bleeding complications after surgery. Parents of participants will be asked to record pain scores and pain medications given, approximate amounts of daily oral intake, and any complications after surgery.",[27,28,29,30,31,32,33],"Sleep-Disordered Breathing","Sleep Apnea Syndromes in Children","Sleep Apnea, Obstructive","Tonsillitis","Tonsillar Hypertrophy","Tonsil Stone","Tonsil Disease",[35,36,37,38],"Tonsillectomy","Post-tonsillectomy hemorrhage","Post-tonsillectomy complication","Lateral pharyngoplasty","RECRUITING","2026-02-19",{"date":42,"type":43},"2026-02-23","ACTUAL",{"date":45,"type":43},"2023-05-17",{"date":47,"type":21},"2026-12",{"name":49,"class":50},"Loma Linda University","OTHER",4,{"id":53,"slug":54,"hasResults":11,"nctId":55,"briefTitle":56,"officialTitle":56,"acronym":57,"eligibilityCriteria":58,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":16,"minAge":17,"maxAge":59,"enrollmentInfo":60,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":62,"briefSummary":63,"conditions":64,"keywords":65,"overallStatus":70,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":71,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":72,"startDateStruct":74,"completionDateStruct":76,"leadSponsor":78,"locationsCount":4},"100591702","application-and-demonstration-of-endoscope-assisted-low-temperature-plasma-radiofrequency-ablation-resection-of-tonsils-100591702","NCT06983860","Application and Demonstration of Endoscope-assisted Low-temperature Plasma Radiofrequency Ablation Resection of Tonsils","A","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1.
