As this patient group often suffers from significant preoperative residual astigmatism, there is a relevant clinical need for effective and safe refractive treatment options. The implantation of a toric add-on IOL in the ciliary sulcus is intended to significantly reduce postoperative astigmatism and improve visual rehabilitation.\n\nThe study is designed as a prospective, monocentric clinical trial with a limited number of cases, as this is a rare condition with limited availability of suitable patients. It is being conducted in accordance with Section 3 of the Austrian Medical Devices Act (MPG 2021) and is investigating a CE-marked add-on intraocular lens implant used within its intended purpose. The postoperative refractive cylinder serves as the primary endpoint, as it reflects the actual effectiveness of astigmatism correction. The rotational stability of the add-on IOL, which significantly influences refractive precision, is recorded as a secondary endpoint.\n\nAll study participants will be examined pre- and postoperatively in accordance with applicable medical standards. The results should contribute to the optimization of refractive care after keratoplasty and assess the clinical applicability of toric AddOn IOLs in this specific indication.",[26,27,28],"Cataract and IOL Surgery","Keratoplasty","Toric Intraocular Lens Stability","RECRUITING","2026-02-27",{"date":32,"type":33},"2026-03-05","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":22},"2026-02",{"date":37,"type":22},"2029-02",{"name":39,"class":40},"Medical University of Vienna","OTHER",1,{"id":43,"slug":44,"hasResults":11,"nctId":45,"briefTitle":46,"officialTitle":47,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":48,"healthyVolunteers":49,"sex":17,"minAge":4,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":50,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":23,"phases":4,"briefSummary":52,"conditions":53,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":29,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":55,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":56,"startDateStruct":58,"completionDateStruct":60,"leadSponsor":62,"locationsCount":5},"100500518","toric-intraocular-lens-iol-implantation-for-management-of-cataracts-100500518","NCT05797298","Toric Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implantation for Management of Cataracts","Plate-haptic Toric Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implantation for Management of Cataracts","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Cataract\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* • small pupil\n\n * zonular dehiscence\n * preexisting corneal pathology\n * glaucoma\n * uveitis\n * a history of ocular trauma or surgery\n * severe intraoperative and postoperative complications",true,{"count":51,"type":22},3000,"This study included cataract patients who underwent toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, which aimed to evaluate the stability and clinical visual quality of toric IOLs.",[28,54],"Visual Quality","2025-06-16",{"date":57,"type":33},"2025-06-19",{"date":59,"type":33},"2019-06-01",{"date":61,"type":22},"2030-05-31",{"name":63,"class":40},"Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University"]
