Calm Moms is a web-based treatment program designed to reduce anxiety, stress, and low mood symptoms among pregnant Veterans with a history of trauma exposure. Its contents are based on empirically supported cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques shown to be effective in reducing these symptoms. Further, the Calm Moms program is tailored towards the unique concerns of pregnant women and incorporates information on how to cope with and reduce the impact of trauma. Calm Moms may benefit pregnant Veterans by reducing their anxiety, stress, and low mood symptoms. Additionally, pregnant Veterans who engage in Calm Moms may have improved functioning, reduced impairment during pregnancy, and show increased interest and engagement with additional mental health care. The current proposal also aims to collect information regarding implementation of Calm Moms at additional sites, which will allow Calm Moms to impact a larger group of pregnant Veterans.",[25],"Trauma-related Mental Health Symptoms",[27,28,29,30,31],"Anxiety","Depression","PTSD","Pregnant Veteran","Reproductive Mental Health","RECRUITING","2026-05-01",{"date":35,"type":36},"2026-05-07","ACTUAL",{"date":38,"type":36},"2025-06-30",{"date":40,"type":19},"2030-03-29",{"name":42,"class":43},"VA Office of Research and Development","FED",1,{"id":46,"slug":47,"hasResults":11,"nctId":48,"briefTitle":49,"officialTitle":50,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":51,"healthyVolunteers":11,"sex":52,"minAge":53,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":54,"targetDuration":56,"studyType":57,"phases":4,"briefSummary":58,"conditions":59,"keywords":62,"overallStatus":32,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":71,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":72,"startDateStruct":74,"completionDateStruct":75,"leadSponsor":77,"locationsCount":44},"100629348","integrative-bilateral-cervical-sympathetic-blocks-for-trauma-related-symptoms-in-special-operations-veterans-a-prospective-case-series-100629348","NCT07473505","Integrative Bilateral Cervical Sympathetic Blocks for Trauma-Related Symptoms in Special Operations Veterans: A Prospective Case Series","Integrative Bilateral Cervical Sympathetic Blocks for Trauma-Related Symptoms in Special Operations Veterans: A Prospective Case Series.","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* 18 years or older\n* PTSD (PCL Score of 33 or greater at baseline screening)\n* Willing and able to provide informed consent and complete study procedures\n* Fluent in English\n* Special Operations Forces Veteran\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Recent Sympathetic Block: Receipt of any cervical sympathetic block (including stellate ganglion block \\[SGB\\], dual sympathetic ganglion block \\[DSGB\\], or bilateral SGB\u002FBCSB), whether unilateral or bilateral, within the past 6 months.\n* Concurrent interventional clinical trial participation: Currently enrolled in another interventional clinical trial or receiving any experimental treatment targeting PTSD, TBI, or autonomic dysfunction during the study period\n* Acute Psychiatric Instability: Currently experiencing acute psychiatric crisis requiring inpatient care, active suicidal or homicidal intent, or untreated mania, psychosis, or severe dissociation\n* Medical Contraindications to BCSB: Any known anatomical abnormalities, bleeding disorders, allergy to local anesthetics, pregnancy, or comorbidities that represent a contraindication to receiving a cervical sympathetic block, per the treating physician's judgment.\n* Language or communication barriers: Inability to read, speak, or understand English sufficiently to complete informed consent and study assessments\n* Low PTSD Symptom Severity at Baseline: PCL-5 Score \\\u003C 33 at screening, indicating subclinical or minimal PTSD symptoms (Rationale: to ensure measurable clinical benefit and reduce floor effects)","ALL","18 Years",{"count":55,"type":19},75,"270 Days","OBSERVATIONAL","This study prospectively evaluates the effects of Integrative Bilateral Cervical Sympathetic Block (BCSB) on trauma-related symptoms in Special Operations Veterans, comparing outcomes in those receiving BCSB alone versus BCSB combined with structured integrative therapy.
