Individuals with swallowing difficulties will receive thickened liquids and\u002For gelatin, while those without swallowing difficulties will be hydrated with unmodified liquids or gelatin.\n\nThe intervention group will receive hydration with GEL-AID. For participants with swallowing difficulties, thickened liquids and gelatin will be replaced by GEL-AID, with texture adapted to their needs. There are guideline recommendations regarding sterile urine culture reporting, but it is not clear how long in advance it should be taken. The possibility of the patient becoming infectious again during the period leading up to surgery is a condition that needs to be determined.
