About this trial

The goal of this observational study is to learn about the effect of eating behavior and snack consumption patterns among children with ADHD. The main question it aims to answer is:

Does snack consumption increase insidenc and severity of ADHD?? Participants will answer survey questions about their eating behavior and snack consumption patterns.

Eligibility criteria

Qualifiers

Age 6-12 years.

Met the diagnostic criteria for ADHD by the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5); and severity assessment by Conners Rating Scale (parent form)

For controls: negative ADHD assessment using DSM 5 clinical interview and Conners scale; no history of ADHD diagnosis

Disqualifiers

ADHD symptoms due to other neurodevelopmental, psychotic, mood or organic disorders, or medication effects

Known neurological disease, severe chronic illness, or special diet that may alter intake

Use of psychotropic or appetite altering medications for ≥3 months

Refusal to participate
