Breast Cancer Patients

The questionnaire for assessment of adverse events after completion of cancer treatment, which is being piloted at the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute, aims to detect a wide range of adverse effects early on, thus facilitating adequate intervention and planning of follow-up care for all cancer survivors.

This prospective, randomised, controlled study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of salt and unsalted cold water foot baths in preventing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in patients receiving paclitaxel. The study's sub-objectives were to minimise the development of CIPN, reduce its severity and incidence of symptoms, and minimise its impact on daily life and activities. Hypothesis(es): H1: Salt cold water foot bath affects the development of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. H2: There is an effect of unsalted cold water foot bath on the development of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. H3: The effects of salt and unsalted cold water foot baths on the development of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. H4: Salt and unsalted cold water foot baths are more effective than standard clinical care in the development of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Researchers will compare the salt cold water with the unsalted cold water, unsalted cold water and control group to determine whether the salt cold water has an effect on CIPN. The experimental group and active comparator participants will continue the application for 12 cycles (12 weeks) of paclitaxel. The application will be applied by researcher Tuba Eryiğit. In addition, before each application for 12 weeks, the severity of CIPN, its effect on daily life and grade will be evaluated. The control group will continue clinical routine care applications for 12 cycles (12 weeks). In addition, the severity of CIPN, its effect on daily life and grade will be evaluated before each treatment in the same way as the experimental groups.

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if adding Huaier Granule to standard care can treat proteinuria (excess protein in the urine) in adult female breast cancer patients (aged 18-75) who developed this condition as a side effect of their immunotherapy or anti-angiogenic cancer treatment. The main question it aims to answer is: \* Does the addition of Huaier Granule to standard care improve the effectiveness of proteinuria treatment after 8 weeks? Researchers will compare the group receiving standard care plus Huaier Granule to the group receiving standard care alone to see if the combination is more effective at reducing protein levels in the urine. Participants will: * Be randomly assigned to one of the two study groups. * Continue their prescribed anti-cancer therapy (immunotherapy or anti-angiogenic therapy). * Receive standard medical care for proteinuria from a kidney specialist. * If in the experimental group, take Huaier Granule orally, three times a day. * Attend clinic visits every 4 weeks for up to 24 weeks for check-ups and tests, including urine and blood tests.

This study, delivered by Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust in conjunction with the Research Group in Breast Health at the University of Portsmouth \[1\], aims to assess whether it is possible to test breast biomechanics in women who have had surgery with or without radiotherapy for the treatment of breast cancer.

This study compares two nerve block techniques-Rhomboid Intercostal with Sub-Serratus Plane Block versus Erector Spinae Plane Block-for pain relief after breast cancer surgery. It aims to determine which method provides better postoperative pain control, reduces opioid use, and improves recovery in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University.

Prospective Evaluation of the Efficacy and Safety of Prepectoral Immediate One-Stage Prosthetic Breast Reconstruction Versus Two-Stage Expander/Prosthesis Reconstruction in Postoperative Adjuvant Radiotherapy Breast Cancer Patients

Evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of laparoscopic assisted breast resection with preservation of nipple and areola, combined with chest muscle anterior prosthesis and patch for immediate one-step breast reconstruction and concurrent autologous fat transplantation in a prospective study

This is a proof-of-concept phase II trial to assess the safety (as primary endpoint) and clinical efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy with Elacestrant and PULSAR. The study will enroll 21 postmenopausal patients with early HR+ HER2- node positive BC, clinically staged II-III. Patients will receive Elacestrant 345 mg orally once daily for 24 weeks and PULSAR on the MRI-based breast gross tumor volume (GTVt), consisting of 10 Gy "pulse" every 4 weeks for a maximum of 5 or less in case of radiologic complete response. Surgery will be planned 24 weeks after Elacestrant initiation and at least 2 weeks from the last pulse and will be performed as per recommended clinical practice. Patients will then receive adjuvant systemic therapy as per standard of care and postoperative RT to the locoregional lymph nodes in case of nodal residual disease, if indicated.

The aim of this study is to compare the analgesic efficacy of multilevel erector spinae plane block (ESPB) vs thoracic epidural in modified radical mastectomy (MRM) regarding duration of analgesia, postoperative opioid consumption, effect on intraoperative fentanyl consumption, postoperative numerical pain rating scale and quality of life for the next 6 months.

The goal of this experimental study is to evaluate the effect of a therapeutic exercise program based on upper limb plyometric exercises in breast cancer patients and breast cancer survivors to determine changes in upper limb functionality. The main question it aims to answer is: Does upper limb plyometric strength exercise improve upper limb dysfunctions in breast cancer patients and survivors? The researchers will compare the effects of plyometric exercise with the effects of strength training exercise to determine whether plyometric exercise improves shoulder dysfunctions in breast cancer patients and survivors. Participants from the Pontevedra group will undergo the intervention using plyometric exercise (Experimental Group), while those from the Vigo group will perform strength training exercise (Control Group). They will complete two sessions per week for six weeks. Outcome variables related to upper limb functionality will be assessed at baseline and after the intervention.

Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) is a prevalent and clinically relevant side effect of chemotherapy in breast cancer patients. It occurs in 30-70% of cases. It can cause various sensory and motor symptoms. Specific exercise interventions have proven promising to target relevant symptoms. Therefore, the objective of this study is to determine the effects of Sensorimotor training on pain intensity, perceived balance confidence, and functional exercise capacity with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in breast cancer patients.

The goal of this observational study is to evaluate the impact of MetroMapping (a service design methodology) on Shared Decision Making in cancer care paths. The goal is to improve Shared Decision Making and make cancer care paths less overwhelming. The study will include adult participants (older than 18 years) with breast, prostate and melanoma cancers. The main question is How does the implementation of MetroMapping improve Shared Decision Making in cancer care paths. 500 patients, across the Netherlands, Spain, and Denmark, will be enrolled in a pre- and posttest phase. Including 100 breast cancer, 100 prostate cancer, and 50 melanoma patients per phase. To further understand patient experiences, the researchers will audio-record and transcribe the Shared Decision Making consultation of a subset of participants (10 per tumor type per country). A total of 120 audio-recordings across both study phases will be collected. In the post-test phase, a personal care path navigator will be created and the researchers will conduct interviews with 3 patients per care path and interviews with clinicians (12 per country, a total of 36) to assess their experiences with MetroMapping. The study is a pre-test and post-test multiple methods design, gathering both quantitative and qualitative data across care paths in the Netherlands, Spain and Denmark. Quantitative data will be collected via electronic (Castor EDC \& RedCap) and paper questionnaires. Participants will receive the first set of questionnaires, one week after their decision-making consult. Encompassing the following questionnaires (I-SHARE for perceived Shared Decision Making, Control Preferences Scale for the perceived roles in the actual decision, Decisions Made, Decisional Comfort Scale, SCIP B Information Provision, PEPPI-5 Perceived Efficacy in Patient-Physician Interactions, Trust in Oncologists, Health Literacy) and for the cost-effectiveness analysis for our partner (UMIT TIROL) the EORTC QLU C10-D and EQ-5D5l will be added to assess utilities. In the post-test participants will receive the second set of questionnaires, 6 months after the first set of questionnaires. This set encompasses (Healthcare Integration INTEGrate, Person Centered Coordinated Care Experiences P3CEQ, Decisional Regret Scale, Trust in Oncologists, EORTC QLU-C10D, EQ-5D5L, Productivity Cost Questionnaires. This study includes a pre-implementation comparison group, and results will be compared with post-implementation outcomes. Participants will complete the questionnaires and provide demographic and clinical data (consent for sharing medical file is asked) and an audio-recording of their consultation will be made. Participants in the post-phase will participate in interviews about their experiences with the implementation of MetroMapping. The audio-recordings will be transcribed and analyzed using the OPTION and 4SDM coding instruments. Data will be analyzed using both univariate and multivariate statistical methods. Transcript of audio-recordings will be analyzed using thematic analysis and the coding instruments.

1. Breast cancer patients and age-matched controls are first invited to answer questions on HRQoL. 2. Among responding breast cancer patients, a subset are invited in a randomized clinical trial with two digital interventions for cancer stress management, cognitive based stress management (CBSM) and mindfulness based intervention (MBI), as well as a control group. 3. The goal is to determine whether digital CBSM or MBI can effectively reduce stress levels as compared to a control group. Second, whether these interventions can improve HRQoL (or avoid onset of HRQoL problems) for patients with breast cancer, compared to a control group.
