Efficacy of Ultrasound-Guided Percutaneous Electrolysis for Hip Pain in Male Ice Hockey Players

Groin pain is a common and limiting condition in ice hockey players, often related to the high mechanical demands placed on the hip during skating. Repetitive movements involving hip flexion, abduction, and rotation may contribute to functional impairment and persistent symptoms. Recent clinical interest has focused on the relationship between the iliopsoas muscle and the anterior hip capsule, as their close anatomical and functional interaction may play a role in the development of hip-related groin pain. Percutaneous needle electrolysis (PNE) is a minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided technique used to promote tissue remodeling and pain reduction in musculoskeletal conditions. However, its application to the anterior hip capsule has not yet been investigated. This pilot experimental study aims to evaluate the effects of three sessions of PNE applied to the anterior hip capsule in male ice hockey players with groin pain. The main hypothesis is that this intervention may improve hip function by reducing pain and enhancing mobility and muscle strength. Outcomes include hip flexor strength, hip flexion range of motion, FADIR test results, and patient-reported outcomes measured with the HAGOS questionnaire. Assessments will be performed before and after the intervention, as well as at a 4-week follow-up.

Ultrasound-guided Needle Percutaneous Electrolysis With Therapeutic Exercise in Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome

Hip pain in the front of the hip is common and can make daily activities and sports difficult. One frequent cause is femoroacetabular impingement, also known as hip impingement. This clinical trial is studying whether adding ultrasound-guided percutaneous electrolysis - a minimally invasive physiotherapy technique that uses a fine needle and a small electrical current - to a program of specific exercises works better than doing the exercises alone. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: * One group will receive two sessions of percutaneous electrolysis plus a home exercise program. * The other group will follow the same home exercise program without percutaneous electrolysis. The study will last five weeks. Researchers will measure pain, hip movement, and hip function at the beginning, after one week, and after four weeks. They will also record any side effects. The main goal is to find out if adding percutaneous electrolysis helps reduce hip pain and improve function more than exercise alone. This pilot study will help determine if this technique could be a safe and effective non-surgical treatment option for people with pain in the front of the hip.

Categorized PT for Non-arthritic Hip and Groin Pain

There is currently limited literature on a categorized physical therapy protocol for management of hip pain. Only a handful of studies have looked at the treatment of osteoarthritis of the hip with a standardized physical therapy treatment, primarily looking at manual therapy versus exercise therapy protocols. However, there are no studies observing the effect of a standardized physical therapy program on patients presenting with non-arthritic hip and groin pain. Based on the gap in the literature, this study will aim to assess the effect of matrix-based standard of care therapy in patients presenting with non-arthritic hip and groin pain.

Comparing the Effects of Holmich Protocol Exercise Therapy and Joint Mobilization Training on Pain, Balance, Function of the Lower Limb, and Muscle Activity in Soccer Players with Athletic Groin Pain.

The goal of this clinical trial is comparison the Holmich protocol exercise therapy and joint mobilization training, investigating their respective effects on muscle activity in soccer players with athletic groin pain. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is there a difference between Holmich protocol exercise therapy and joint mobilization training on pain, balance, function of the lower limb, and Muscle activity in Soccer Players with athletic Groin Pain ? Researchers will compare Holmich protocol exercise therapy (HT)with joint mobilization training (JMT) to see if the exercises are effective on pain, balance, lower limb function, and muscle activity. Participants will: Practice Holmich protocol exercise therapy (HT) three times a week, 90 minutes per session, for 12 weeks. Practice joint mobilization training (JMT) for 12 weeks.
