Acute Power Training Effects in Older Adults

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn how older adults respond to power training when the level of fatigue during exercise is different. Power training means performing fast movements with moderate loads to improve strength, power and mobility. The main questions the study aims to answer are: * How does the level of fatigue during power training acutely affect strength, movement, and muscle function? * How does it affect recovery, muscle soreness, and how hard the exercise feels? Researchers will compare three power-training sessions with different fatigue levels to see which approach may be safest and most effective for older adults. Participants will be healthy older adults aged 65 to 85 years. Each participant will complete three supervised exercise sessions on a leg press machine. The sessions will take place about one week apart. During the study, participants will: * Perform power training on a pneumatic leg press machine * Complete strength and mobility tests before and after exercise * Provide small blood samples to measure body responses to exercise * Rate how hard the exercise feels * Report muscle soreness for up to two days after exercise The results may help researchers design safer and more effective power-training programs to improve strength, mobility, and recovery in older adults.

Exercise With Audible Cues on Motor Unit Behavior in Athletes With Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

The closed kinetic chain (CKC) of terminal knee extension exercise (TKE) is designed to activate VM activity for knee injury training. This CKC exercise is effective for highest recruiting muscle activity, especially safe for post-operative knee surgery. The study of ACL reconstruction rehabilitation guideline suggests that exercises can be applied within the early phase of rehabilitation to prevent knee laxity and less knee pain compared to open chain exercise. Therefore, it is interesting to investigate the effects of TKE exercise synchronized with metronome pace on change of VM motor unit behavior in post operative ACL reconstruction. This study focuses on the immediate effect of 1-seesion TKE and expects that adding metronome during TKE will enhance neuromuscular control of VM and may change motor unit behavior.

Effect of 12-week Milk Fat Globule Membrane Supplementation on the Human Muscle Function of Healthy, Recreationally Active Adults

The main aim of this study is to understand if chronic supplementation (12 weeks) of a milk fat globule membrane containing supplement, called bioactive whey protein concentrate, improves human muscle function greater than a placebo supplement within a cohort of healthy, recreationally active adults. Furthermore, we aim to investigate whether any potential benefits of milk fat globule membrane are influenced by age through the assessment of 2 distinct age subgroups (young and older). We hypothesise that neuromuscular function (strength and power) will increase from pre to post within the group that consumes bioactive whey protein concentrate but not the placebo group, with a greater increase in the older group compared to the young group.

Impact of Menstrual Cycle-Based Resistance Training on Neuromuscular Performance in Female Athletes

The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the impact of menstrual cycle-based resistance training on neuromuscular function in female athletes. The primary questions it aims to answer are : * Does varying resistance training intensity according to menstrual phases improve maximal knee extensor strength? * How do different training protocols affect voluntary activation, rate of force development, muscle stiffness, and vertical jump height? Researchers will compare natural menstrual cycle groups with an oral contraceptive control group to determine if menstrual phase-specific training influences neuromuscular adaptations. Participants will: * Undergo 2 weekly resistance training sessions over 13 weeks with intensity adjustments based on menstrual phase * Complete periodic neuromuscular assessments across three menstrual phases: early follicular, late follicular, and mid-luteal before and after resistance training intervention
