Effect of Nasogastric Tube Care Training by Simulation-Based and Video-Based Methods on Nurses' Confidence, Satisfaction, and Practices

This randomized controlled trial will evaluate the effect of simulation-based and video-based training on nurses' confidence, satisfaction, and clinical practice related to nasogastric tube care, compared with a control group receiving routine training or usual practice. Nasogastric tube care is an essential nursing procedure that requires adequate knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to ensure safe and effective patient care. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: simulation-based training, video-based training, or control. The findings of this study will provide evidence on effective educational methods to improve nurses' performance in nasogastric tube care and support better quality of care.

Immersive Virtual Reality for the Management of Anxiety Among Nurses

The nursing profession is recognized as one of the most demanding in the healthcare sector. Constant exposure to illness, suffering, and death, combined with an increasing workload, leads to fatigue, stress, and especially persistent anxiety. This anxiety affects not only the psychological and physical health of nurses but also the quality of care provided. From an organizational perspective, anxiety promotes absenteeism, demotivation, and turnover, creating a vicious cycle of collective exhaustion. To relieve their anxiety, an increasing number of healthcare providers are turning to complementary medicine, particularly immersive virtual reality (VR) interventions. Immersive VR hypnosis has been used for several years as a non-pharmacological approach to anxiety management. It constitutes a relational experience engaging both physiological and psychological mechanisms, allowing the user to improve their experience and reduce or even eliminate anxiety. Randomized clinical trials conducted in recent years have evaluated the efficacy of immersive VR hypnosis. Some results indicate that it reduces anxiety more significantly than pharmacological treatments in control groups and is at least as effective as other complementary therapies (relaxation, massage, acupuncture, yoga, etc.). However, the strength of these conclusions remains limited due to a substantial risk of methodological bias. Rigorous new studies, with strict control conditions, are required, particularly regarding the efficacy of hypnosis applied to nurses. Since 2024, the investigators have offered hypnotic VR sessions to nurses at the Clinique du Pont de Chaume to better manage their anxiety. Despite the high satisfaction rate reported in our questionnaires, the investigators now aim to statistically evaluate the efficacy of this intervention. Ultimately, these results could justify a broader investment in this type of equipment, making it available to a larger number of healthcare professionals but only if this complementary intervention demonstrates scientific efficacy.

Reduction of Complications Associated With PICC Management

The present study aims to analyze different care routes of the peripheral access central venous catheter to assess which alternative allows a moderate reduction in the level of complications associated with prolonged care frequency, due to the reduction of device manipulation. A high level of patient satisfaction is detected due to the controlled follow-up of the device care, as well as a decrease in the need for transfer to a center for follow-up. Objective: Identify the type of care frequency for PIVCs most beneficial for the reduction of complications associated with extraluminal device care (thrombosis, phlebitis, accidental removal, obstruction).

How Nurses Use and Evaluate the Ampoule Peel Device: Comparing Manually Opened Vs. Device-Opened Ampoules

Nurses frequently handle ampoule bottles in their daily work, and due to the fragile nature of these glass bottles, manual opening often leads to hand injuries. According to studies, a high proportion of occupational injuries among nurses are caused by handling ampoule bottles, especially hand lacerations. These injuries not only affect work efficiency but also increase medical risks. Therefore, to improve safety and reduce occupational injuries, this study aims to evaluate a patented ampoule peeling device, which has also won the National Innovation Award, to assess whether it can enhance the safety and satisfaction of nurses during their work.
