Early Effects of Orthognathic Surgery on Periodontal Phenotype: A 6-Month Prospective Clinical and Radiographic Evaluation

The goal of this observational study is to learn how the health and thickness of the gums and supporting bone around the teeth change over 6 months in adults having jaw surgery to correct the bite. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Do gum and tooth-support measurements change from before surgery to 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery? * Do CT scan-based measurements of the tooth-supporting bone change over the same time period? Participants will: * Have a gum check-up (periodontal examination) before surgery and at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery. * Have CT scan-based measurements (CBCT) taken at the same time points for study assessment.

Comparison of Two Methods of Covering a Single Lower Front Tooth With Receded Gums

The primary objective of this randomized clinical trial is to compare the mean root coverage achieved with Coronally Advanced Flap (CAF) + Connective Tissue Graft (CTG) (control) to Gingival Pedicle Split Thickness flap (GPST) + CTG (test) for the treatment of isolated gingival recession defects in mandibular incisors. The secondary objectives are to compare the percentage of complete root coverage and keratinized tissue gain between the two techniques.

How Can Prefabricated Membranes Load Ascorbic Acid Can Curtail Gingival Recession?

Periodontal diseases are a prevalent issue, often leading to gingival recession, where the gingival margin recedes, exposing the tooth root and causing various problems. Gingival recession can be managed through both non-surgical and surgical interventions The non-surgical approach often involves plaque control and addressing any underlying inflammatory conditions. However, in cases of advanced recession, surgical treatment may be necessary Several treatment techniques have been proposed, which can be divided into pedicle and free grafts. The latter can also be classified as free gingival grafts (FGG) or as connective tissue grafts (CTG). Other treatment options include soft tissue substitutes or regenerative therapies Harvesting graft from the palate has several problems, such as pain, inflammation, bleeding, flap necrosis, and infection at the donor site. The Effect of Periodontal Dressings and Various Materials on the Donor Site's Quality of Life After Free Gingival Graft Surgery

The inadequate width of attached gingiva, resulting from the loss of the attached gingiva band, is one of the primary mucogingival issues. Free gingival graft (FGG) is a mucogingival surgical technique used to increase the amount of attached gingiva, cover exposed root surfaces in localized gingival recessions, deepen the vestibule, and eliminate frenulum and muscle attachments. The harvested tissue is keratinized attached gingiva. Due to ease of access, the palate is most commonly preferred as the donor site. Complications that may arise following FGG surgery are generally donor site-related. Reported complications include postoperative bleeding, recurrent herpetic lesions, delayed healing, paresthesia, mucocele, arteriovenous shunt, and postoperative pain. To aid healing and reduce discomfort and pain associated with the wound site in the palate after surgery, various materials have been applied to the donor site to facilitate recovery. Following FGG surgery, patients will be divided into three groups based on the application of different materials to the wound site in the palate: leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF), Ora-Aid oral wound dressing, and a palatal surgical stent. In the Ora-Aid group, after harvesting the graft and placing it in the recipient site, the wound area will be irrigated with saline solution, and Ora-Aid will be trimmed to the appropriate size and shape. It will be gently pressed onto the wound for 5-10 seconds until it adheres. Ora-Aid and L-PRF will be secured to the wound site with a 4/0 silk cross suture. The Ora-Aid application will serve as the test group, the L-PRF application as the positive control group, and the palatal surgical stent as the negative control group. Randomization will be performed using a computer program. Postoperatively, patients' pain levels will be assessed on the 3rd, 7th, and 14th days using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) test and the OHIP-14 questionnaire. Wound site epithelialization will be evaluated during follow-up sessions on the 7th and 14th days and at 1 month. After evaluating all questionnaire results, statistical analyses will be conducted.

Clinical Evaluation of Gingival Biotype Changes Using a Coronally Advanced Flap (CAF) in Combination with Leucocyte and Platelet- Rich Fibrin (L-PRF) Membranes of Different Thickness for the Treatment of RT1 Gingival Recession: a Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial.

Gingival thickness plays a key role not only in the etiology but also in the treatment of gingival recessions. More recently, authors reported that as the gingival thickness decreases, the gingival recession severity increases . When gingival inflammation occurs, if the tissue is thin the consequent destruction can quickly produce a gingival recession (GR) . When treating a gingival recession, the clinician should aim not only to completely cover the exposed root surface but also to prevent a future recession recurrence. The treatment gold standard is the CAF associated with connective tissue graft. This technique has demonstrated high rates in gingival recession reduction and positive predictability in obtaining complete root coverage. However, some disadvantages about this surgical approach can be easily highlighted: patients experience more discomfort, longer chair-time it's necessary and a second wound area is created. In this scenario, The Platelet rich in fibrin and leucocyte (L-PRF) could be a valuable alternative treatment of gingival defects. It's a platelet concentrate, obtained by a fast and simple procedure that does not require anticoagulant and bovine thrombin. It can also be categorized as a live tissue thanks to platelets, leukocytes, growth factors and stem cells trapped in a polymerized fibrin mesh. L- PRF is used in various fields of regenerative medicine; It promotes stabilization and revascularization of the flaps, contributes to soft tissue wound healing and reduces post-operative discomfort. The purpose of this study will be to evaluate if the different thickness of platelet- rich fibrin (L-PRF) membranes in association with a Coronally Advanced Flap (CAF), for the treatment of RT1 gingival recessions, may influence the Complete Root Coverage (CRC).
