Speech Perception

This study aims to assess hearing and speech perception, as well as quality of life, in deaf patients of all ages before and after cochlear implantation, and to explore differences across age groups and treatment subtypes, thereby providing evidence for personalized hearing and speech rehabilitation.

This cohort study aims to explore the trends and differences in multidimensional perceptual levels of patients after cochlear implants or gene therapy, as well as to comprehensively assess the efficacy of gene therapy for congenital deafness, thus providing a reference for making a well-rounded postoperative rehabilitation protocol for gene therapy patients.

This study aims to establish a novel multimodal evaluation and precision rehabilitation system for patients with congenital hearing loss who have received hearing aids, cochlear implantation, or emerging gene therapy. The proposed system will integrate age-stratified difficulty levels, combined with a gamified interaction platform or software designed to assess and train three core perceptual domains: auditory speech perception, music perception, and spatial hearing capabilities.

Using a randomized controlled trial design, the investigators will examine the effects of music engagement through choir training on the hearing, communication, and psychosocial well-being of older adults, particularly those at heightened risk of developing dementia.
