Comparison of Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy Techniques for Chronic Anal Fissure

This prospective randomized controlled trial compares three lateral internal sphincterotomy (LIS) techniques in patients with chronic anal fissure refractory to medical treatment: (1) Spasm-Controlled LIS (serial small sphincterotomies using an anal calibrator until 30 mm anal caliber is achieved, under local anesthesia plus sedation), (2) LIS up to the Fissure Apex (spinal or general anesthesia), and (3) LIS up to the Dentate Line (spinal or general anesthesia). The primary outcomes are fissure healing rate and fecal incontinence incidence at 12 months, assessed using the Wexner Incontinence Score. Secondary outcomes include postoperative pain (VAS), recurrence rate, patient satisfaction, and complications. A total of 150 patients (50 per group) will be enrolled and followed for 12 months.

Microgreens and miRNAs

In this study, we investigated the impact of a comprehensive microgreen and wheatgrass juice protocol on the miRNA response following a standardized EIMD model and whether microgreen consumption could modulate key miRNA markers of neuromuscular regeneration and metabolic adaptation, thereby offering a novel nutritional approach to enhancing holistic recovery in athletes.

Detection of Residual Caries on Class II Cavity Walls in Primary Teeth Following Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART)

The primary aim of this study is to compare the diagnostic agreement and effectiveness of three different methods-Fluorescence-Aided Caries Excavation (FACE), caries detection dye, and clinical observation-in detecting residual caries remaining on cavity walls of primary teeth following Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART). Through this comparison, the study seeks to identify the method that provides more reliable and accurate results, thereby contributing to clinical practice by guiding clinicians and supporting the development of strategies to enhance the long-term success of ART.

Effects of Silver Diamine Fluoride and Intraoral Cryotherapy on Local Anesthesia in MIH-Affected Molars

Molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is a developmental enamel defect of unclear etiology that affects permanent first molars and often permanent incisors, leading to increased porosity, hypersensitivity, and poor prognosis. The porous structure of MIH-affected enamel facilitates bacterial penetration, which may cause subclinical pulpal inflammation and reduce the effectiveness of local anesthesia during dental procedures. Achieving adequate anesthesia in children with MIH can be challenging, resulting in increased discomfort, anxiety, and behavioral management difficulties. Cryotherapy has been shown to reduce pain by decreasing local inflammation and slowing nerve conduction, while silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has demonstrated efficacy in reducing dentin hypersensitivity through tubule occlusion, antibacterial activity, and remineralization. This study aims to evaluate the effects of intraoral cryotherapy and silver diamine fluoride application on pain perception and the efficacy of local anesthesia during operative dental procedures in MIH-affected permanent first molars.

Effect of AI-Supported Child-Friendly Communication on Dental Anxiety in Pediatric Patients

This study compares the effects of traditional behavior management techniques and AI-assisted child-friendly communication on dental anxiety, physiological stress, and pain perception during local anesthesia in healthy children aged 6-12. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of AI-supported communication tools in reducing anxiety and improving comfort in pediatric dental treatments, potentially enhancing clinical outcomes and advancing technology use in pediatric dentistry.

Effect of Nutrition Education on the Quality of Life, Chronic Disease Adaptation in Patients With Thyroid Dysfunction

This thesis study is designed to examine the effects of nutrition education provided to individuals with thyroid dysfunction on their quality of life and adaptation to the disease. The data will be collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, the Nutrition Attitude Scale, the Quality of Life Scale for Thyroid Patients (ThyPRO), and the Chronic Illness Adherence Scale. The Body Mass Index (BMI) of participating patients will be calculated by the researcher based on measured height and weight. Laboratory values including TSH, free T4, and free T3 will be obtained from the patients' medical records on the day of assessment. Data collection will be conducted in two phases. The study population will consist of all patients diagnosed with thyroid dysfunction who present to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Hospital. Using the G\*Power 3.1.9.2 software, the required sample size was calculated prior to data collection with a 95% confidence level. For correlation analysis, an alpha value of 0.05, an effect size of 0.455, and a statistical power of 95% were assumed, resulting in a minimum sample size of 56 participants (30 per group). Accounting for potential data loss, a total of 60 patients (30 per group) are planned to be included in the sample.

The Effect of Laughter Yoga on Nurses' Burnout Level and Stress

The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine the effect of laughter yoga on the burnout levels and stress of nurses. The main questions of the study are as follows: 1. What is the burnout level of nurses in the control and intervention groups? 2. What is the stress level of nurses in the control and intervention groups? 3. Has there been a change in the burnout levels of nurses practicing laughter yoga? 4. Has there been a change in the stress levels of nurses practicing laughter yoga? To compare whether laughter yoga affects burnout and stress levels, participants will be divided into control and experimental groups. The experimental group will undergo laughter yoga sessions twice a week for one month.
