Transauricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation Frequencies for Postoperative Pain

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether different frequencies of transauricular vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) can reduce postoperative pain and opioid consumption in adults undergoing abdominal or urologic surgery. It will also evaluate the effects of tVNS on recovery quality, autonomic function, and treatment safety. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does transauricular vagus nerve stimulation reduce postoperative opioid consumption during the first 24 hours after surgery? Do different stimulation frequencies (high-frequency and low-frequency tVNS) produce different effects on postoperative pain and autonomic responses? Is transauricular vagus nerve stimulation safe and well tolerated in surgical patients? Researchers will compare high-frequency tVNS, low-frequency tVNS, and sham stimulation (inactive stimulation) to determine their effects on postoperative pain and opioid requirements. Participants will: Be randomly assigned to receive high-frequency tVNS, low-frequency tVNS, or sham stimulation. Receive two 30-minute stimulation sessions, one before anesthesia and one after surgery in the post-anesthesia care unit. Undergo assessments of postoperative pain, opioid consumption, need for rescue analgesics, postoperative nausea and vomiting, heart rate changes, and quality of recovery. Be monitored for adverse events related to the intervention during the study period. A total of 174 participants will be enrolled in this single-center, randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled clinical trial.

Parents in Action: An Online Intervention Aimed at Parents' Well-being

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if an online intervention improves well-being in low-income parents with children aged between 3 and 6 years. The main question\[s\] it aims to answer \[is/are\]: * Does life satisfaction improves after the online intervention? * Do stress, anxiety and depression symptoms diminish after the online intervention? Researchers will compare parents who took the online intervention with parents who did not to see if the intervention makes parents feel more satisfied with life and less stressed, anxious and depressed. Participants will be interviewed about their own well-being, mental health and parenting practices and about their children's behavior and screen use before taking the online intervention. During the intervention, parents will watch videos, answer quizzes and do simple activities at home. After the online intervention, parents will be interviewed again about their own well-being, mental health and parenting practices and about their children's behavior and screen use before taking the online intervention.

Telepharmacy on Patients With Arterial Hypertension

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of a pharmaceutical care protocol via teleconsultation in the management of uncontrolled hypertension with pharmaceutical care carried out in elderly patients assisted in primary health care. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. How effective is a pharmaceutical care protocol via teleconsultation on the clinical outcomes of elderly people with uncontrolled hypertension, when compared to in-person pharmaceutical care? 2. How effective is a pharmaceutical care protocol via teleconsultation in adherence to the treatment of elderly people with hypertension, when compared to in-person pharmaceutical care? Participants will undergo four visits. Two visits will be for the application of instruments and measurement of clinical parameters to be carried out at the beginning and end of follow-up (visits 1 and 4). These will be carried out in a pharmacist's office at the pharmacy by previously trained pharmacists and pharmacy students. Visits 2 and 3 will be pharmaceutical consultations to be carried out in person and/or via telepharmacy. Researchers will compare pharmaceutical care via telepharmacy with in-person pharmaceutical care to see how effective these services are in controlling blood pressure in elderly patients with uncontrolled blood pressure.

Effects of GPR on Non-Specific Chronic Low Back Pain

Introduction: Low back pain affects approximately 18.5% of the Brazilian population in adulthood, significantly impacting the quality of life and generating substantial costs for the health system. The Global Postural Reeducation Method (GPR) is a promising therapeutic alternative due to its multidimensional approach, capable of improving postural control and reducing pain. Objectives: to evaluate the Efficacy of the RPG method compared to simulated RPG (SHAM) in treating patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain. Methods: Randomized sham-controlled clinical trial. Forty-two adult individuals with chronic nonspecific low back pain will be recruited and distributed into two groups: the Experimental Group (EG), which will receive GPR sessions, and the Control Group (CG), which will receive RPG-SHAM sessions. Both groups will be treated for 30 minutes once a week for 8 weeks. Descriptive analysis will be performed, continuous variables will be summarized to the mean, and standard deviation and categorical variables will be summarized as absolute and relative frequencies. To assess the effects of the intervention over team, analysis of variance (ANOVA) with repeated measures will be used, with a significance level of 5% (p \< 0.05). Expected Results: This study is expected to provide robust evidence on the effectiveness of RPG in treating patients with low back pain, contributing to a better understanding of this complex health condition. The results will potentially positively impact the clinical practice of Orthopedic Physiotherapy, offering an exercise-based and accessible approach for treating patients with low back pain.
