Effects of Inter-Set Rest Intervals on Muscle Damage After Flywheel Exercise in Untrained Men (RCT)

This randomized parallel-group clinical trial will compare the acute effects of three different inter-set rest intervals during a single lower-limb flywheel resistance exercise session in untrained men. Participants will be randomly allocated to one of three groups: 1-minute, 2-minute, or 3-minute inter-set rest interval. The primary outcome will be the change in maximal voluntary isometric contraction of the knee extensors 48 hours after exercise. Secondary outcomes will include mechanical variables during the exercise session, countermovement jump performance, knee flexor maximal voluntary isometric contraction, muscle soreness, pressure pain threshold, range of motion, ultrasound-derived muscle thickness and echo intensity, perceived exertion, perceived discomfort, perceived recovery status, creatine kinase, and lactate dehydrogenase.

Effects of a Tactical Programme for Critical Thinking on Football-Specific Decision-Making in Under-9 Academy Players

This study evaluates whether embedding a Tactical Programme for Critical Thinking (TPCT) within routine academy football training improves football-specific decision-making and execution speed in under-9 male players. Participants will complete either TPCT-integrated training or standard academy training, and performance will be assessed before and after the intervention using the Stroop Task Football Test (STFT).

TPCT Underwater Rugby Women

This randomized controlled trial evaluates whether adding a short, structured team-reflection protocol (Tactical Programme for Critical Thinking, TPCT) to regular elite women's underwater rugby training improves tactical efficiency. Both groups complete the same training content and time; the TPCT group uses brief guided discussion during recovery intervals, while the control group uses the same time for passive recovery. Tactical efficiency is assessed using video-recorded 3v3 scrimmages coded with the RUSTAC checklist at baseline and after 6 weeks.

Brief Structured Team Reflection Embedded in Elite Underwater Rugby Training

This study evaluates whether a brief, structured team reflection programme embedded within routine elite underwater rugby training is associated with longitudinal change in key psychosocial team over 6 weeks and assessed at baseline (T0), mid-intervention (week 3; T1) and post-intervention (week 6; T2). Outcomes include team cohesion, psychological safety, peer trust and team identification measured via validated questionnaires.
