EUS-guided Portal Pressure Gradient (PPG) Measurement: a Potential Alternative to the Traditional HVPG

The goal of this investigator-initiated, single-arm, prospective study is to evaluate the accuracy, safety, and feasibility of endoscopic ultrasound-guided portal pressure gradient (EUS-PPG) measurement as a potential alternative to the traditional hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) method in patients with portal hypertension due to chronic liver disease. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What is the correlation between EUS-PPG and HVPG measurements in patients with portal hypertension due to cirrhosis? * Can EUS-PPG serve as a reliable and less invasive alternative to HVPG for assessing portal pressure? * What are the safety outcomes associated with EUS-PPG compared to HVPG? Researchers will compare EUS-PPG measurements with HVPG measurements within the same patients to assess whether EUS-PPG provides accurate and clinically comparable portal pressure readings while reducing procedural risks. Participants will: * Be adults aged 18 to 85 with a history of liver disease and portal hypertension or suspected cirrhosis requiring HVPG measurement. * Undergo both EUS-PPG and HVPG measurements within a seven-day window to allow for direct comparison of results. * Receive standard clinical care for their condition, including routine diagnostic evaluations and portal hypertension management as needed. * Be monitored for safety outcomes, including adverse events such as bleeding, infection, perforation, and any other complications related to the procedure. * Provide relevant demographic and clinical data, including liver disease history, Child-Pugh and MELD scores, and portal hypertension-related complications such as varices or ascites.

Changes in Eye Pressure in Glaucoma Patients Treated with Istent Inject W, Monitored by a Contact Lens Sensor

The purpose of this study is to compare the IOP-related fluctuations using the CLS (contact lens sensor) Sensimed Triggerfish in glaucoma patients before and after glaucoma surgery with iStent inject W under physiological conditions and compare these results with a control group of glaucoma patients treated only with hypotensive medical treatment requiring cataract surgery.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection in Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diasease: the RECODE Study

The goal of this observational study is to determine the prevalence of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection and evaluate its association with clinical outcomes in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who experience exacerbations during the RSV season (October-April). The main question it aims to answer is: * What is the prevalence of RSV infection in patients with COPD during exacerbations in the RSV season? * Does RSV infection lead to worse clinical outcomes, including hospitalization, longer length of stay, acute cardiovascular events, and/or death in patients with COPD exacerbations? Researchers will compare patients with RSV infection to those without RSV infection to see if RSV infection results in worse clinical outcomes, such as increased hospitalization, longer stays, cardiovascular events, or death. Participants will: * Be adults diagnosed with COPD who present to the emergency department or day hospital due to acute exacerbations of their respiratory symptoms. * Receive treatment as per standard clinical care for COPD exacerbations, including long-acting bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroids, and may complete a course of antibiotics and/or oral corticosteroids if prescribed during hospitalization. * Undergo diagnostic testing for RSV infection as part of the clinical routine to determine the presence or absence of the virus during their exacerbation. * Have clinical outcomes monitored, including hospitalization rate, length of stay, and any acute cardiovascular events, as well as mortality during the exacerbation period. * Provide relevant demographic and clinical data, including medical history, COPD severity, comorbidities, and previous exacerbation events.
