Study on Prognosis of Acutely Ruptured Intracranial Aneurysms

The SPARTA study is a prospective multicenter observational trial in the Netherlands with the aim of identifying the best clinical care in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoidal haemorrhage. Differences in outcome between surgical treatment and endovascular treatment will be explored. Furthermore, cost effectiveness and radiological prognostic factors will be examined.

Complement Inhibition: Attacking the Overshooting Inflammation @Fter Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (CIAO@SAH)

Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) can lead to devastating outcomes for patients, like cognitive decline. This is caused by early brain injury (EBI) followed by delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI). Neuroinflammation, triggered by the complement system, has been investigated to be a key mediator in the pathophysiology of EBI and DCI. Inhibition of the complement system is therefore considered to be a potentially important new treatment for SAH. This trial aims to study the safety and efficacy of C1-inhibitor Cinryze, an approved inhibitor of the complement system, compared to placebo in patients with SAH. By temporarily blocking the complement system we hypothesize limitation of delayed cerebral ischemia and a more favourable clinical outcome for SAH patients due to a decrease in the inflammatory response.

Towards Optimal Treatment for High Risk Prostate Cancer

The goal of this clinical trial is to combine several optimized treatments of high risk prostate cancer. The main question to answer is: is it safe to combine these optimized treatments. * patients will be irradiated on the prostate and (elective) lymph nodes more concentrated but with fewer hospital visits (hypofractionation) * the tumor will get a higher dose * androgen deprivation therapy will be reduced as much al possible preventing side effects Researchers will compare oncological outcome and toxicity.

Improving Therapeutic Ratio With Hypo Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy for Brain Metastases

Randomized phase II trial. The study aims to investigate a different and potentially safer radio therapeutic treatment method for brain metastases. The current standard of stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) in one or three fractions is compared to fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (fSRT) in five fractions.
