Comparative Outcomes of Inj Botox Alone vs Inj Botox Combined With Fissurectomy and Anoplasty in the Management of Chronic Anal Fissure

Chronic anal fissure is a common benign anorectal condition characterized by severe pain during defecation, rectal bleeding, and reduced quality of life. Injection Botox is a widely used sphincter-preserving treatment that produces temporary relaxation of the internal anal sphincter and promotes fissure healing. However, healing rates with injection Botox alone are variable and recurrence remains a concern. This prospective comparative trial aims to compare the effectiveness and safety of injection Botox alone versus injection Botox combined with fissurectomy and anoplasty in adults with chronic anal fissure. The study will evaluate healing rate, pain relief, time to healing, recurrence, postoperative complications, continence outcomes, and patient satisfaction. A total of 108 eligible patients with chronic anal fissure will be enrolled and allocated to one of the two treatment groups. Participants will be followed after treatment to assess clinical outcomes. The results of this study are expected to provide evidence regarding the optimal sphincter-preserving treatment approach for chronic anal fissure and help improve patient care and quality of life.

Evaluation of Post Operative Pain After Using Intracranial Cryotherapy During Single Visit RCT

A total of 60 patients presenting with single-rooted teeth exhibiting symptomatic apical periodontitis were subjected to a randomized allocation into two groups of 30 each. Irrigation was done using 3% sodium hypochlorite for 5 seconds in all 60 teeth. Group 1 underwent final irrigation utilizing normal saline at room temperature. Group 2 received final irrigation using normal saline refrigerated between 2-5°C. Pain levels were assessed and recorded before the procedure and at 24 and 48-hour time intervals.

Comparison of Three Orthodontic Separators for Pain, Plaque, and Tooth Separation

Orthodontic separators are small devices placed between teeth before fitting braces to create space for bands. This procedure may cause pain, discomfort, and changes in oral hygiene, which can affect plaque buildup and daily activities. This study aims to compare three commonly used types of orthodontic separators-elastomeric, Kesling, and customized tie wire separators-in terms of the amount of tooth separation achieved, pain experienced by patients, and plaque accumulation. In addition, the study will assess how these separators affect patients' quality of life, including eating, speaking, and daily comfort. Participants will be assigned to one of the three separator types and will be evaluated after 48 to 72 hours. The findings of this study may help identify the most effective and comfortable separator, improving patient care and treatment experience in orthodontics.

Comparison of Botulinum Toxin Injection and Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy in Chronic Anal Fissure Management

This study aims to compare two commonly used treatments for chronic anal fissure: botulinum toxin injection and lateral internal sphincterotomy. Chronic anal fissure is a painful condition that causes severe discomfort during bowel movements and can significantly affect a patient's quality of life. Botulinum toxin injection is a minimally invasive procedure that temporarily relaxes the anal sphincter muscle to promote healing. In contrast, lateral internal sphincterotomy is a minor surgical procedure that permanently reduces sphincter pressure and is considered the standard treatment with high healing rates. A total of 90 adult patients with chronic anal fissure will be enrolled and divided into two groups. One group will receive botulinum toxin injection, while the other group will undergo lateral internal sphincterotomy. Patients will be followed up regularly to assess healing, pain relief, recurrence of the fissure, and any complications such as incontinence. The purpose of this study is to determine which treatment provides better outcomes in terms of effectiveness and safety, helping doctors choose the most appropriate treatment for patients.

Comparison of Root Resorption in Modified Corticotomy-Assisted and Conventional Canine Retraction

This randomized controlled clinical trial will compare external apical root resorption in patients undergoing maxillary canine retraction using modified corticotomy-assisted frictionless T-loop mechanics versus conventional frictionless T-loop mechanics. Sixty orthodontic patients requiring extraction of maxillary first premolars will be randomly assigned to two groups. Changes in canine root length will be measured on panoramic radiographs taken before and after retraction to determine the extent of external apical root resorption. The study will evaluate whether modified corticotomy-assisted retraction results in different root resorption outcomes compared to conventional retraction.
